One thing I have started doing on new projects and some replacement hoses...is just buy straight end male pipe ends and use the female swivel fittings to make up the angles etc...the mechanical female swivel fittings are almost always cheaper than the alternative pressed on hose end fittings...also there is no sealant required as they are a mechanical joint like a JIC only a little sturdier IMO...
When using a hose the NPT male ends then attaching female swivels, what is the maximum working pressure of the assembly? I was thinking of doing this same setup with my towable boom lift, but it's relieved at 3500 psi and I seem to recall seeing the hose assemblies with screwed on fittings are rated lower than that. I'd LOVE to configure the hoses just as you mentioned, if it's safe.
