Yeah, I found the access schedule for MAC addresses (and you can apply it to the entire intranet system as well). That's not what we wanted to do. We wanted to limit his data usage, regardless of when it happens. Our HughesNet package is 15Gb/month anytime, and 50 Gb/month "bonus" from 2am-8am. We don't have any problems between the two of us. We're a week into our cycle and we've used 1.2 Gb of our 15. When the boy got his first smartphone a couple of years ago, he started draining our data within the first two weeks every month. We were able to divide and limit the data usage on the cell phone plan, but not the home internet. We eventually had to change the password and not give it to him. We haven't gone over since.
He has his own mobile service now which has unlimited data, but it doesn't allow hotspot use. So, he'll need to use our HughesNet for the laptop. Any other browsing or streaming will have to be done through his phone. The workaround isn't perfect, but it'll have to do.
