After my parents retired, they bought a Subaru wagon of some kine with a manual transmission that they pulled behind their RV all over the country and Canada. That was the most reliable, never needed any repairs, vehicle ever.

Last year my wife and I drove up to Wyoming to pick up a puppy and we spent some time in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado while on the way there. Right off we noticed Subaru's where everywhere. It became a game to see how many we could see at any one time. If there where five cars in front of us, three where Subaru's. While not scientific, or even accurate, we felt that there must have been as many Subaru's in the mountains as all other cars combined. They where EVERYWHERE!!!!

I always see a lot of Subarus in "ski country" whether it's Vermont, New Hampshire, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, etc... It's pretty amusing sometimes. If you think there are a lot on the highways, go through the parking lot of a ski area!

We're picking up the new Outback tomorrow! Dark Blue Pearl, Touring edition with the java brown leather interior. I have no idea how they found one so fast AND are having it brought in for us. We added a couple of dealer-installed accessories, and they gave us the Costco auto-buyers program discount (15%) without even being asked. I'm stoked!

Bought our first new car ever which was a 2014 Outback. We drove everything in its class, Honda, Toyota, US, Korean, everything. The Outback was by far the most comfortable. Still love it, put gas in in and change the oil and it runs like new still after 65K without a single problem.

Bought a 2006 Baja the other day cheap with a slightly bad engine (Subaru has had a few issues with their head gaskets and exhaust valves from time to time) and I plan on making that a wrenching project once I retire, if not before.

Was watching MotorWeek's review of the VW Alltrac. When they got around to talking about it's 4 WD capability the benchmark chosen for comparison was Subaru. Rightfully so in my opinion. Sure wish Subaru sold a pick-up in the US

Ask a Subaru owner what car they owned prior and what car they plan to buy next. Speaking for myself, the answer would be Subaru/Subaru. According to Experian's analysis of roughly 6.8 million household repurchases that put pen to paper between October 2014 and September 2015, Subaru and Ford ranked highest, first and second, respectively, in both brand loyalty and manufacturer loyalty. While I'm quite sure more recent studies exist, yet my guess is that the results don't differ much, if at all.
