8n starter broken

i have a 52 8n the starter when in it and the end that the gear is on the brass bushing started to com out and cracked that end plate of the starter. i replaced it with a new starter and it did the same thing.
any ideas why the the bushing would walk out and that break the end plate of the starter?
and it has wreaked the armature in side it.

You can buy a new 8n starter on E-Bay for less than $125 USD.

what im afraid of is the same thing happening again. the last starter was new too. i had it on the tractor for a week

check your ring gear, bar it over, look for any folded over teeth.

I don't put much faith in some of the new, super cheap parts. it might have been made off center / out of round, had a bent armature and thus had runout..
