New owner 4720ch! questions on top-n-tilt kit

   / New owner 4720ch! questions on top-n-tilt kit #11
After a good long time of lurking and researching and kicking tires at dealers I finally purchased myself a tractor! It was a hard decision between the 4720ch and the 4225ch. Figured I would stick with the tested engine than the new one and end up with more hp for about the same price.

In any case, I am very interested in getting a top-n-tilt kit. Does anyone have a kit they have been pleased with? Where did you get it?

Hey madpuma.

Did you make a move on a top and tilt?

I got a hydraulic top made by my tractor shop, which is amazing. Never got the tilt tho and thinking about doing that still.

I have both top & tilt. Tilt is very jerky. I don't have enough experience with hydraulics, but would guess that an adjustable bypass would be a good idea to dial it in. Also, using the tilt will press on the hydraulics, quick attach, and other components. Not necessarily a bad but try to visualize that vs the convenience of tilting from the cab.

Try some flow restrictors, I typically recommend .030 orifice size for 2" cylinders, .045 for 2 1/2" cylinders and .060 for 3" cylinders.

You may find that you would benefit from these being on your top link also. ;)

Excellent suggestion. I will look into this. Top link is OK. Perhaps this is because the tilt remote has as center detent or ?... All I know is the tilt is hard to center.

BTW, I also have the aux front bypass option for a grapple, blade angle, etc. highly recommended. While the loader controls hardly compare to a skidsteer or other proper equipment, it is much nicer than the clumsy loader control on a JD or Kubota.
