I got a Massey GC1705 and would like a 540 pto and cat 1 3pt hitch on the front. Whats the best way to go about this?

Not a PTO expert. The mid PTO spins at 2,000 RPM so you’d have to somehow gear that down with a gearbox or chain drive reduction. Or, use a hydraulic driven motor to run a front PTO at 540. What do you want to run on a front mount PTO? Knowing that might help some one come up with good suggestions. It might be simpler to put the gear reduction on the implement.

I saw a guy mount a 3-point blower on the front that way once, but I don't remember how he got power to it. I've looked for gear reducers and have never found one that would drop 2000 to 540, do they exist?

I have one for powering my 540 PTO alternator from my 2000 rpm F-935 mower pto. Plus it has the normal spline output shaft. I'll have to look for where it came from. Ebay I believe. You have to watch the rotation direction that's needed. Quite a few front snowblower gearboxes handle this reduction, too. (like the JD 47 and 54).

I want to run my rear 3pt blower on the front. But this looks like its gonna cost me 100 thousand billion million. And probably take a life time to install. Im thinking there is enough room to mount a bicycle seat backwards by the steering wheel. Then just pull the steering wheel using some sorta quick release (maybe a racing wheel) and turn around and sit on the bike seat. Operate the pedals backwards which im sure will take getting used to and somehow remotely control the steering wheel with an electric motor. Then i would have rear steering which i would like. Thanks for the replies.

If you want to convert a rear mount PTO blower to front mount, I think the simplest thing would be to find the front mount attach kit and drive shaft for it and take the 3 point hitch part off of it. I have a user manual for a New Holland 63CS blower and it shows that the rear mount and front mount blowers are the same except the front mount has a chain drive reduction on it.

Might be a lot simpler and cheaper in the long run to find a used front mount blower and attachment kit for your machine and sell the rear mount to recover some of the cost.

The impeller would be spinning way to fast. Gotta do a reduction box which is to expensive for what its worth. The simplest solution seems like something from frontlink but its over 10k.

Two sprockets, some chain and ingenuity doesn't cost $10k. That's how the blower manufacturers do it.

The easiest solution is just to buy a front mount snow blower. Hook it up and go.

Monkeying with anything else is likely to leave you disappointed.

There are companies that make front mount snow blowers that run off of the rear pto. I don't remember the brand name but I do remember watching several youtubes about them. Maybe someone reading this remembers and can let us know the manufacturer. Most run on either a gearbox or chain system at the rear and a shaft to the front. It wouldn't be hard to duplicate.
