Kubota L4760 leak down.

Last night it got down to -18F here. Both stabilizers were on the ground this morning (about 20 hours sitting, last used it yesterday morning). There is a point where after at about a 40 degree angle where within an hour it finally drops all the way. I suspect that is because most of the weight is pulling down at that point. Got me. I have a hydraulic leak in one of the loader hoses so the tractor has to go back to the dealer for that repair here in a couple weeks, so I figure I will ask them about it and see if they think it is an issue.

Spoke to the Shop Foreman at my dealer yesterday, and was told that the only acceptable leak-by listed in his info pertains to a loaded bucket. Acceptable is a drop of 2" in 5 mins. But he said that outriggers should definitely not leak down to ground overnight. He would make repairs under warranty if tractor was in his shop.

Thanks Ken. They have usually been falling down overnight. Last night only one fell down. I thought that was strange.

The tractor has had a hydraulic leak on the line where the loader frame block connects to the tractor line on the right in front of the cab on the yellow line. It appeared to me it was leaking from the flange nut and not the crimp. So, I got a set of crowfoot adapters and with a 22mm adapter I was able to tighten it without much effort about 1/4”. I am wondering if the system had a leak on one of the loader lines, could that impact the backhoe?

I used the loader and played around with a pile of gravel I have just to put a heavy load on it. I still found fluid on it but I couldn’t tell if it was from yesterday where it leaked a lot after using the loader to clear my manure pile. I wiped everything down as best as I could and will try to play with it tomorrow and see if I see any more leak. I really need to wash it off but at 6F with a below zero windchill that’s pretty much impossible until we get above freezing next week.

If tightening up that nut doesn’t work I’ll definitely point out the backhoe stabilizers to the dealer. It should be obvious to them. I would have thought it would have done it for them as well when sitting in the shop so I’m surprised they didn’t say anything.

Thanks,

Matt
