Hi. I am new to this site and I'd appreciate any help you may have here. My little backhoe loader has an issue. two days ago i went to do some work and the loader wouldn't go up or down. If I tilt slightly I can get it to go up and down slowly if I multifunction. The engine is working hard, and I can tell the hydraulic pump is working overtime. Fluid is not flowing but sounds like it's dead heading pressure. I have had a leaking ram on the loader, and didn't watch the fluid level like I should have. When I checked it it was not showing on the dipstick. I had left the tractor for about an hour after running it when I checked the fluid level. I added about 2 gallons. It then was then showing in the minimum level area. This morning I checked it and it shows full. Fluid must have settled in some. I purchased the tractor with 1242 hrs. It now has 1550 hrs. I changed the engine oil and filter, but have not changed out the hydraulic fluid. The dealer had done that prior to my owning it. the hydraulic oil looks good on the dipstick. Clean, if that matters.

Any help is greatly appreciated. If there is a previous thread that addresses this please direct me. thanks.

Welcome to TBN,
I would disconnect, clean, and then reconnect the three lines feeding the backhoe, if one is slightly unhooked it will cause the deadheading your experiencing.

The backhoe loop was my first thought as well. although it is only two hoses. Does the backhoe respond correctly? please update with results.

I just recently disconnect d the backhoe! I may not have the loop connected properly! I'm headed out to check. Wow! I hope that's it. I'll let you know. Thanks!

Glad it was a a quick and painless fix, but maybe this 'scared' you into checking fluid levels more often/ before you actually experience an issue;) Don't forget tire pressure also.
