Who's kidding? Look what happened when white cows and brown bulls bred........chocolate milk!

You had better be kidding. If you think a Brown and Polar bear can show up in antarctica, you have some serious mental problems.

sure several of the aside posts are pointless but what started as a way to close an open discussion with a member with a standing as formidable as Egon's...deserves some consideration...
...Especially since the once beyond reproach Egon has been accused of being a troll...IMO we need to at least give him a chance to defend...

Agree but he hasn't put forth a defense yet.

What Iv noticed is a seasonal change in the ice on our lake. Ice coverage has been increasingly short term. This early cold spell has it iced in real well. Very unusual. Is it the weather? Almost definitely - - its a strange quirk for sure. Ts up and its melting now. Well see how it acts the rest of the winter.

It is the oppossite problem here in the PNW. Way too warm. We have only had one short epesode of snow cover and it didn't last long. We are well into our "wet season" but we are behind on amount and a lot of what did fall, fell on frozen ground (ground. It is now thawed out and bare, it should be under at least a foot of snow and froze solid. I just came in from driving some steel posts, no a sigh of frost down over a foot. We should have about another 3 weeks of winter weasther. Haven't seen any real 'winter weather' yet.

I garden and I look at seed catalogs. I did notice that my area of central Maine which had previously been a zone 4 (though zone 3 was more realistic), in the seed catalogs had been changed to a zone 5 due to the warmer temp.
Across the country that zone change looks to have also happened. Zones are how one chooses the appropriate shrubs, plants to purchase that will survive the local conditions. That could bust a company commercially if it was in error. I noticed this to be the case for all of the seed catalogs. This happened several years ago. (Business is already making the adjustments needed due to global warming, while we debate it!)

This is an interesting story I came across today. Winter Olympics athletes travel thousands of miles for new training spots due to melting glaciers Winter Olympics athletes travel thousands of miles for new training spots due to melting glaciers

And species have been noted moving their range north.

One can argue that Climate Change/Global warming is not man-made but common sense says it is long past time to quite claiming it isn't happening at all.

All I know is speaking of threads that have a never ending life, I'm sick of that good morning thread.

Blasphemy I say!

Capitalizing on global warming, or recouping losses is the next step. This is an interesting story developing out of NYC. The city is suing 5 oil companies to recoup their losses dealing with Global warming. After Exxon revealed they were aware of global warming and fossil fuels in their internal memos some years ago, this will be interesting.

LoL...Good luck to nyc in their effort to prove fault...The ONLY way it could happen is for corrupt judges/juries to falsely make awards...it's literally impossible to prove...
The case is moot...the only reason it's news is because nyc is using it as a way of getting publicity for removing oil stocks from their pension funds...i.e., a quasi-political statement...

BTW...why didn't the article you cited about glaciers mention the fact that 90% of the planet's glaciers are growing...NOT shrinking or melting??

And don't you agree, that is a very good thing?
