Got over 50 for a while, 48 now, a few more warm days coming, most of the snow is leaving.

Hope you are feeling better.

just too slushy and messy out to do much. I put the mower away in the spot the UTV had been and decided to wait until all the snow has melted.
Tomorrow will be warmer and a good day for outside.
Was lazy with a book this afternoon. No wonder I've gained five pounds. Stay inside too much and not get enough exercise.
Though shoveling that snow was a definite workout. Randy, let it melt...

Nice rig, Drew! If you don't mind me asking, what did that set you back?

Interesting news on Foxnews.com today...guy in Alabama got busted for screwing a horse. The guy was 18 and the horse was 20, so I reckon it's legal.
Two articles links to the article above:
Long Island Man arrested for ****** abuse of multiple horses
Arkansas man (no, not Bill Clinton) arrested for ****** molestation of a family's pet donkey
Do I see a tend here...?

Got the Simplicity started and moved, along with it's little wagon, slush on the driveway scraped off, ice cleared off walkway into the house, 2 x 4's moved up to the garage, van started and driver's side wiper arm fixed, along with the registration renewed ... and just got back from Menards.

Still have to unload tho' ... after I make a place to put it in the garage.

Do you really think this is an appropriate post??? Trump would screw the crack of dawn if he could get up early enough...Now I'll report your post, and they can remove both of ours...

How long ago are you thinking of. I did put a tube in one rear tire on my last lawn tractor. But I went back to walk behind, self-propelled mowers. I had a good Toro, but gave it to my grandson, and now I use an Ego self-propelled that I really like.

Maybe a couple months ago i think for your BIL. Carlisle lawn tractor tire

Happy birthday RS

Nice chipper Ron still lots of snow I see

Weather station up and running took long enough

Which weather station did you end up with? I'm still trying to decide
between Acurite or Ambient Weather station!

A pleasant 35 and snow slowly melting, Rain for the weekend. Headed out for a haircut this morning and thinking of heading to the car wash get the road film cleaned off.
Given what I saw in the mirror the other morning, I probably need to get my ears lowered too.

RS hope you enjoyed your birthday
Just another day in the life ... we'll probably will head out this weekend with my nephew and his wife, as we usually do (her birthday is this Friday) ... that should be fun.

Van now unloaded ... only forgot to pick up one thing: 4' x 8' panel of 6mm twinwall clear polycarbonate.

Should have enough lumber and plumbing supplies to do the two racks on the north wall and the stand for the six foot 100 gallon tank. Will probably spend most of tomorrow cutting and then moving the pieces downstairs once cut.

After that, I'll be painting ...

Good evening all. 44F this morning, light wind @ 7, overcast sky. Did not take long for wind to get downright gusty, temp struggled to get to 54F and overcast sky all day. Men's meeting this morning, followed by a trip to town, no bike ride, tree trimmer showed, was to leave me some more dead walnut but didn't :(

Buppies- I too am interested in you personal weather station.

I do not think that it ever reached 32F around here today.

Ambient weather station I am really enjoying it so far. Drove to NC Raleigh to be exact to pick up service truck. Check on weather at home several times

Made it to 62 today. Currently 55. Even warmer tomorrow before bottom falls out again. 2-6 inches of snow forecast with a quarter of inch of ice. I can live without the ice. For Friday.

Half of birds leave tomorrow. Other half Monday. Then finish fixing fence. Have a shorter layout this time. Only 2 weeks instead of 3. Makes cash flow nicer but doesn’t allow me to air barns as well. But will be welcome. I can remember when 2 weeks between flocks was the norm.

School is out till Tuesday. So wife and kids are home. School district had 85% attendance today. Anything below 90% and state payments don’t cover operating cost. So take advantage of the holiday weekend and get a 5 day break. Flu is really bad here. But it’s a combination of flu and stomach bugs. Some individual schools attendance today was as low as 60%. Wife said there were classes in her school that were below 50%.

30 right now...high in the low 40's.
Heading to Connecticut (work related) for today and tomorrow.

37 going to 55 and then rain tonight. Still have a few patches of snow.

Got a few things to do outside before the predicted inch of rain hits and makes my fields like Eric's.

Drew, nice mower...I bet you're looking forward to spring green up. Is this the unit that hydraulically raises the mower deck up?

40 degrees out going up to a balmy 68 today, and 70 tomorrow, due to rain and warm front coming up.
I'm headed downtown early to get a pallet of 30 bags of brown cow cow manure and will hopefully get to dump them in the new garden
before the rain comes in. It may be too soft to take the tractor in there today, still the last of snow melting here.

Dug up some dirt from four places in the garden, mixed them together to do a soil test, then realized I didn't have any distilled water.
I keep forgetting to buy it.

Udometer. New word I learned yesterday since it came in the mail.
It's the graduated glass beaker for a rain gauge.
It's what you need to replace when you forget to dump out the water
before 0 degree weather shows up.

When I bought my JD diesel garden tractor, it was the least expensive five foot deck steering wheel equipped diesel mower I could find.
Just aren't that many made, for those of us who can't use zero turns. it cost 12K because I didn't want to spend 20k on the Kubota.
But since my arthritis has gotten worse, more than two hours behind the wheel just kills me. Hands and wrists swell up, very unpleasant.
So I needed to up my game and get a six foot deck so I could finish earlier, and this Kubota seems to be the least expensive six foot deck diesel mower
with a steering wheel I can find. I set a spec and try to spend as little as possible. I know that sounds a little dubious when you are spending this kind of money
but we all spent fairly serious money on a tractor, so we all know the cost of machinery.

This is the "smaller" model versus the 39hp 4wd version. I live on such flat land I saw no need to spend 3k more on 4wd for my model.
You can get the larger model with a 100 inch folding mower up front with cab and a/c. I think 50k....
It's not hard to see where the money goes though. Massive frame, like a tractor on this new mower, everything is commercial grade.
Frankly if they made something not so heavy duty for less money with the same deck I would have bought it, but I don't have a lot of choices when
you can only drive mostly with one arm. The dealer put a shiny new "necker knob" on my steering wheel as a bonus.
It's an asset, I will take care of it, and when I have to sell this place someday, it will be hold its value very well. My brother's is 21 years old now, most people
don't give them up because I guess the mowers don't give up.

Good morning. Fog is lifting here, just in time for my wife to take her Toyota in to the dealer in response to a recall notice.

I was relieved to get out at first daylight and see the fence posts went in yesterday pretty close to where I wanted them. Today is more challenging, putting in new posts along the boundary with my difficult neighbour. I've tried to explain to him a few times what I intended to do, but to no avail. The last time he was out walking dogs with his wife and we were doing the same. His wife started to listen to me, but he turned round and walked off in the opposite direction, screaming obscenities at the top of his voice.
Most people would be quite happy to see a replacement stock fence going up without it costing them a penny :confused3:

Farmer2009, guess the pressure is going to be on you to clean out even quicker if your chicken free "holiday" is reducing. Recommendation here is also 14 days, including minimum of 5 days after disinfection and the next birds arriving.

Nice fish pic RS, calming just looking at it. Lots more please.

Hoping all who are ill improve and that none of you get the flu. Wash your hands...

Seventy degrees out today and going to put a coat of wax on the new mower, makes it easier to keep clean. A friend of mine uses a special Meguiars
that he says is extra slippery. He keeps his mower wheels and deck a lot cleaner than mine. This is my first rear discharge mower, will be interesting to see
if in windy conditions I get less grass or dust in my face.
