Talk me out of a Kioti CK3510SE HC

I think the title kind of says it all. With a lot of homework, a lot of dealer trips, my own fair share of analysis paralysis, I've finally broken through to what seems like a winner, the Kioti CK3510SE HC. It will do what I need, it fits my tall, fat stature, and it fits my budget.

That said however the proof is often in the pudding and the real phase of discovery is in ownership and while I'm sure I'll discover something less than perfect no matter what I buy, I'd hate to walk into something nasty that I could have discovered ahead of time if I looked just that little bit harder or longer. I'm still open to an alternative if it means avoiding some pitfall.

Obviously I'm searching this model, as well as potential typo variations, into Google and soaking up all I can. Any of you have anything to share that hasn't made it to the internet yet? Spill the beans!

I'm a bit of a Kubota snob, but guys I know that have Kioti seem to like them. I think that most of your major tractors are pretty good, it all depends on your preference and the quality of the dealer you will be buying from.

My brother has a baby Kioti that he regularly works the he!! out of with little to no problems.

To me the fit and finish on a tractor is important. It shows the attention to detail by the manufacturer, which I believe is important.

I looked at Kioti and it seemed at first to offer a lot for the money. But the fit and finish of the models I saw was sub-par. If you are OK with that, well, time to buy!!! Maybe they have brought their game up a notch or two since I was looking?

Yeah that is something that I am willing to compromise on for the sake of price, to a point. This Kioti was put together well enough to me that nothing jumped out at me.

I'm not really up to date on the newer models.
But my (2001) Kioti DK 35 is 17 years old now with 2100 hours and I've really been happy with it.
Its been good, still runs and operates like new.

Why aren't you looking at the 40?

It's the exact same machine, same engine, same everything, but its cranked up to more HP. I've always been a believer in getting the most powerful engine available in a machine frame size, be it car, truck, or tractor, etc.... you will never regret the extra HP in that size machine.

I don't know, I'll have to ask the dealer but it's looking like the price difference is about $2k and that gets you 2.5pto horsepower. As much as I would never regret another couple horse when I think about the opportunity cost of that $2k I'm thinking I can likely find more value putting it somewhere else like an implement or maybe even a better seat for someone over 300lbs. I'm not adverse to spending the money, I just want to put it to the best use.

You're still evil though, I gotta think about that. One perk is the dealer doesn't have one so it would be ordered factory fresh vs. on-the-lot-for-3-months fresh.

I own Both products Kioti & Kubota.Both will serve you well.My kioti fit and finish is just as good as kubota products.

i have a kioti 2610 HST and love it. going on 60 hrs now and the only issue i have had is that i had to tighten the locking nut on the throttle. don't forget to have the dealer add the rear remotes and the 3rd function. better to get it now and finance it than to have to add it later and pay out of pocket. i kick myself every day for not doing it.

It comes down to what you like and what fits you best in my view. The Kubota didn't fit me as well (totally subjective). Fit and finish of my DK was perfect, and 400 hrs in the only issues I have had were user introduced - completely flawless owning experience.

DO NOT do it.

You could end up with a Wicked Grapple and proceed to cleaning up your property and doing things like this. People will be envious, as if you've just won the lottery.
It will save you wayyyy too much time. Your life will quickly become too easy and you'll turn into the most spoiled, laziest, happiest guy on the block! :laughing:

I am normally a snob for Japanese equipment (bought half a million worth of Okuma machine tools in the last four years). Normally their attention to detail, paint or powder coat, making maintenance easy, and general sense of quality stand above the rest. That being said, I just bought a Kioti RX7320 instead of the Kubota because the Kioti felt like a better machine to me (I know, heresy). Korean manufacturing has come a long way (much like the Japanese did earlier), and in some ways their designs even top the Japanese.

First time I have ever heard that fit and finish was lacking on Kioti or LS for that matter. It does seem to be a common complaint on some Mahindra models.

I bought my DS4110 a year ago, and I've put over a hundred hours on it. Previous owner put 340 hours on it. Mine is a shuttle shift.

Plenty of power for everything I've thrown at it so far. Great hydraulics.

My only complaint so far is that it doesn't warm up well in the cold (-10C and colder). I actually thought the thermostat was gone, but after I swapped out the dust screen in front of the rad for a solid sheet of plastic, it warms up and regulates perfectly.

I think of the major brands there is little difference (hearsay here, but whatevs).

I am 6'7" and 220 lbs. So my fitting on a tractor is important too. I try on cars, tractors etc before I even think about buying one. If it does not fit move on....

Secondary to that for me was dealer support. Both the local JD and Kubpta dealers would hardly give me the time of day. So no go. The NH dealers was awesome. They just changed hands and the new owners are even MORE awesome.

Same here. I found the Mahindra thing to be dependent on which line you looked at. Some lines are new "modern" tractor design with good fit & finish, others were just modern manufacture of 60 year old designs and the fit quality showed.



For the OP - It's going to be hard for me to talk you out of Kioti because Dad & I love ours and pops has admitted several times now that we should have upgraded years sooner.

I'm glad messmaker mentioned LS because I was going to suggest you look at the XR3037HC (3 cyl) or XR3135HC (4 cyl) (I know, more heresy). I was impressed by what I found reading when we were researching but there just wasn't anyone close enough for us to go look at back then.

While I think the Kioti is a great product & offers a lot of value for the price point (and would recommend them in a heart beat), I've seen enough pretty nice sounding prices for LS floating around these forums that it might be worth your time to at least make a phone call.
