DABSGT- Knowing that Mark's is OK is decent proof that we are on a similar quest for finer "barbecue" in NE. 
Ed- I learned to like that slimy stuff and then Wifey makes it somewhat less slimy in her Cajun "casseroles.". This time of year around here it is only available frozen. I think the fresh okra preps better (I do a lot of prep). Wifey makes a pretty decent gumbo and jambalaya. Gumbo file' is not that easy to get around here.
How does one really cook okra correctly?
