What is a bar id? there is a lot of sawdust and oil under the cover.

I think I was scanned today at Costco in Austin and tonight someone is trying to use my Credit card # in Austin, but my CC company detected fraud because of the chip and declined the purchases. Time to get a RFID shielding wallet. Does anyone else use a shielding wallet?

I use one from amazon.

Don, sometimes the bar oiler pump passage way gets clogged and the oil might leak out where it shouldn't. If the chain is not spinning, then the clutch may be oily. Just a guess. What kind of saw?

RNG, I'm sorry this guy who is working on the van seems to have some skills that others don't. He sure is his own worst enemy when it comes to making a living with his own business. Hope you can eventually get it out of there, never to return.

Birds sure like the suet we put out. The wood peckers' beaks sure work best getting it out of the cage.

I don't know if I'll watch NFL tomorrow or not. I would like for the worm to turn and so it wouldn't bother me to see Jax win tomorrow. Also wouldn't mind seeing Mintesota win tomorrow.

Should be some oil flicking off the end of the bar when you rev the engine, Don, but not a steady stream. Maybe if you took the bar and clutch off and cleaned them both on a good solvent, you'd be able to spot the problem.

Could it also be that the fins on the inside of the chain (sorry, I'm not enough of a lumberjack to know the correct name for them) be bottoming out in the groove of the bar because the bar is worn too much? That could cause some big time friction, maybe enough to smoke the chain...

Speaking of solvent, seems you can't get varsol anymore....I must have had a few gallons that had lasted me until now (since forever)...What do people use now?

RNG, ED, & Kyle That sounds about right with all the smoke - oil burning on clutch. It is a Husqvarna chainsaw. I'll clean it up real good and try again. Thanks!

Kyle there were 3 accidents within 12 hours on Hwy 21 near the Bastrop county line. Speed limit is 70, the road was damp and there is a curve there. On the way to Austin we saw one of them - an overturned pickup that flipped and snapped a telephone pole. Be careful of oncoming traffic in that area.

Since Houston Texans never even made playoffs, I’m pulling for the Vikings. Case Kennum played at at University of Houston, my alma mater, and still holds NCAA record for three years at 5000+ passing yards per season. He started 2017 season as Minnesota 3rd string QB.

Good evening all. 50F this morning, windy, and clear sky. Sky clear to mostly clear, wind south 15-22, and high temp 70F. bike ride today, first 50 miler of the year, then lunch and a nap.
Had a big garden at the Rolla,MO house, grew okra, much better tha what we can get in the store.
