2” is the most common. 1 7/8” is for light stuff that get pulled behind little cars. 2 5/16” is for heavy trailers like car haulers and big cargo trailers.
Beyond that it’s into the commercial stuff.

Edit to correct 2 5/16” size.

It depends on what hitch is on your trailers. All of my trailers are 2 5/16". If you have different size hitches on your trailers mount a 2" receiver on back of your tractor and get a tri ball hitch to plug into it.

I standardized a succession of vehicles on 2 inch ball, to match occasional U-Haul rentals.

Later this was correct for three different small travel trailers - two of them pop-up tent trailers.

And got a 2" hitch for it, when I bought a tiny Harbor Freight trailer.

I think 1 7/8" is becoming obsolete, I would't use it for anything.

2 inch is fine for anything you would pull with the Mahindra as a farm implement. If you need to move around a big heavy road trailer, would be the only reason to get the multiple ball mount including a larger ball.

Agreed, for a tractor that is probably going to be used as a "tug" for all sorts of stuff, a tri-ball is the way to go.
