Thoughts on Sexual Harrasment...

Guess it is chip on my shoulder... take away the title but still have the responsibilities which is in direct opposition to the company handbook...

We had a woman CEO for over two decades... background as an old military nurse and worked her way up to become Hospital CEO... she could use language like a sailor if needed and did. You knew there was a issue when she said in my office and close the door!

More than a few times she would go head to head with someone loitering or dumping trash... fearless would be the best way to describe... she retired at 65.

I guess they broke the mold?

Anyway... I escorted arrivals and departures on request... it was simply part of my job... the ladies that work late complained a lot since my time clock hours no longer permit me to be here late... management waived parking restrictions for the 4 that leave at 6 pm... they now park in the first spaces nearest the building.

At the risk of offending... my old CEO, the Navy Nurse, said a few times in her tenure the following, "God, there is too much Estrogen around here"

I would never say such a thing nor could I... but OK for a woman CEO

Heard on the news tonight that steve w, the billionare vegas hotel mogel is the next on the list. Friend of trump and we all know that billionairs don't go to prison.

Short of an actual physical assault (which would include rape, sodomy etc)...I don't think there are actually any laws being broken by many of the accused harassers etc...

I am NOT defending anyone of any claims...just sayin...there was obviously some workplace rules and regulations broken but few of the accusations are about felony or even lessor crimes...

Again, I'm not defending any actions by anyone nor am I making excuses...but in the real world it's a fact that women dress themselves to look good...and there can be a fine line between respectable complements and more salacious comments...

BTW...tell that part about "going to jail" to Martha Stewart...!

It happens all the time...but likely is reported even less...

In the real world...I would guess that the ratio of male employees being harassed etc. by female overseers is proportional to the opposite...

The segment I am in tends to be dominated by women... the CEO and most of the VP and regional Hospital Directors and local Admins tend to be women...

My experience from the women I know is they tend to excel when it comes to following corporate procedure...

Thank goodness for about 15 years we had an old military Chief of Anesthesia... cool under pressure, decisive and super at problem solving... not saying because he was a man but none of the successors have been anywhere near his skill and experience... but they know protocol forward and backwards.

He went out on medical and we had an interim female chief... she was rattled when she learned he was coming back... even filed a motion saying she was passed over for a man...

He made quick work of that... said he is a Doctor first and had no desire to take anything away from her... but he fully intended to hold her accountable in her position as Chief...

I have read your many tomes on other TBN threads about how awful the organization you work for is. If you work as hard as you complain, you are obviously too good for them. For the love of God, PLEASE LEAVE. :hissyfit: Both the Company and you will be happier for it.

There was discussion in the break room yesterday... the women (Hospital Staff is 90%+ Women) were lamenting that there are few Real men left... the kind of take charge and take care of their woman... I kept walking right on through.

What gets me is the double standard...

Can't have it both ways.....

The fictional heroes of my youth (portrayed by the likes of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood) who were Make a Decision and Take Action types, were long ago condemned as sexist dinosaurs. Your overheard women's lament was exactly echoed recently in a totally unrelated forum...... slashdot - where all the macho geeks hangout :laughing:

If you look up the definition of sexism, it is primarily slanted to women, having arisen in the 60's. All this talk today about Gender Neutrality is the biggest load of heifer-dust I've heard in quite a while....

The environment ur works in is pretty much the definition of gender-based discrimination, and clearly places his personal security at a lower value. Even today, nobody minds when Clint or Duke has to step up to deal with the "bad guy".

Can't have it both ways....

Latest complaint is that conservatives are supporting application of the Pence Rule.

I worked with a lady at one time who was like the hospital CEO above. A very rough CHARACTER who took nothing off anybody. She had wrecked a Harley several years before and walked with a limp. We told all the new people she had lost her leg and had a wooden one and was limping because termites had got in it again. Somebody would actually ask her about it and she would come screaming thru the door of our office calling us a bunch of M-F-s. Heard her tell the Production Manager one time that he couldn't fire her because she was old, she was a woman, and she was crippled. Then she told him to do something that is biologically impossible.

Management was terrified of her.

She told all new female employees that she never wanted to hear a sexual harassment complaint. "If the SOB bothers you, kick him in the nuts and he won't bother you anymore. It has always worked for me."

One night I have had a female employee ask me to go to the store room for AA batteries. When I asked her what for she pulled a vibrator out of her purse and said she ran the batteries down during lunch. I made sure to go straight to the shift superintendent and the (female) nurse and tell them of the conversation.

And I did not get her the batteries.

If a male had said something like that to a female supervisor he would have lost his job.

Double standards.

Did anyone mention how around how the Ontario election was affected ? Two anonymous women are said to have called a CBC reporter and claimed that the Conservative Party leader Patrick Brown had assaulted both of them 10 years ago. Just how does this have to be announced right now and become a crisis four months prior to the election.
No proof, no names, no inquiry, no due process in court. Just a claim by a reporter, from a news network that hates conservatives as much as CNN hates T r u m p supporters.
The Liberals have copied the dirty tricks playbook from Hi l l a r y. With the outside chance that there was a coup staged from inside the Ontario Conservative party with False Flag Attack.

I alluded to that, but did not get specific as this is not the appropriate forum. (Yeah, it seriously stinks, even non-supporters of that pol or party are saying so......)
