I've seen some use of the concept, and I wonder if it would work on a small utility tractor with a front-end-loader to grab on to a bale spear for lifting round bales?

I'm looking at one seller over here (SK) who has an Iseki 27HP with the 4-in-1 bucket on the FEL. Otherwise, I imagine that switching out a 4-in-bucket for another FEL attachment must be a bit of work to deal with hydraulic hoses as well, and that I might be be better off with just a normal FEL.

Also, in that size of tractor, is there going to be any success using the 4-in-1 bucket as a box blade to make flat pathways around our farm?

I don't know how heavy your round bales are over there, but here they're in the 750-1400# range. I don't think a 27 HP tractor is gonna be able to pick up a 4 in 1, a bale spear, and a bale.

I doubt it would work.

I use a log loader trailer to pick up my haybales and how well it works is 100% dependent upon how cold it is out. If the hay bale is frozen, the log loader works pretty well. If it is not, it almost destroys the hale bale getting it onto the trailer. You would even have a worse problem trying to pinch the entire bale I would think.

Good point. I'm sure there are larger round bales here, but I wouldn't be dealing with any heavier than 300kg/650lbs, but I see now how the extra weight of the 4-in-1 bucket isn't going to help.

He's talking about using the 4 in 1 to pick up a bale spear which would then spear and carry the bale, not trying to grab the bale with the bucket.
