2017 Kubota L2501
What size trailer would I need to haul around a Kubota L2501 with FEL. Weight of the tractor and FEL is just over 3400 lbs according to the manuals. I have a 22 foot snowmobile trailer with 2 3500 lbs axles. According to the numbers it should haul it but I don't think I would want to attemp it. I would be much more comfortable with a car hauler type trailer. Whats your thoughts.

Are you going to be hauling this tractor around a lot, or just trying to get it home? Are you planning on hauling it with any large 3pt attachments on it, like say a rotary mower? I have an 18' tandem axle car trailer, and with my rotary mower hitched to my tractor, it overhangs my trailer by a couple of feet. That's with the bucket on the FEL, and the bucket sitting flat on the deck.

If you're only moving it home and done, consider renting a trailer. If you're going to haul it around frequently, get enough trailer to clear the length of the biggest attachment you ever think you may buy for that. Same goes for tractor size. If you ever think you may go bigger on the tractor, get a larger trailer now, instead of having to rebuy the trailer when you buy bigger tractors.

My next flatbed trailer is going to be a gooseneck, deckover, probably 28'-ish, so I can haul my tractor, plus a couple of implements at the same time. I want the deckover to make it easier to load/unload pallets, hay, lumber, or whatever with just forklift forks and less manual stacking to clear the fenders on a standard deck car trailer.

Yep, need more info. How often and how the tractor is configured are all important factors.

So far you said just tractor and FEL and 3400#.......thats no problem for a trailer with a pair of 3500k axles.....

But since you are asking the question.....I am assuming there is more to this story

Since your L2501 is just over 3400 lb you should easily be able to use your 22' 7K trailer providing the trailer floor is strong enough and you can tie it down.
What concerns do you have that would make you not want to attempt it?

22ft with 3500lb axles, I'm thinking enclosed trailer?

I use an 18ft car hauler type trailer to move my B2620 around, with an implement on the back it can get tight quick.

If you do have an enclosed trailer it should do fine but can be a pain if you're planning on trailering it alot.

The trailer is not an enclosed and floor is 2x6 planking and is supported every 4 feet. For tie downs, the side of the deck has stake pockets made from 1/4" material and a rub rail made from 1.5 x 1/4 flat bar around the whole perimeter. The deck is above the tires putting the center of gravity up a bit higher. Thats my main concern. It would be used maybe 4 or 5 times a year for approximately a 100km round trip. It would just be the the tractor and grapple with no implements being hauled. Right now we use it to put the quads on to get them to the areas that a buddy and I harvest firewood. He has a similar trailer that we also use. We harvest the firewood, put it on his trailer, Him and his son haul the trailer load of firewood home and unload it. My son and I stay and continue to cut wood, they comes back we load his trailer again with wood, load up the quads on my trailer and head home. I want to do the same process with my tractor. I have someone wanting to by the trailer from me, so I'm just checking if it would be worth it to sell it and just bite the bullet and get a car hauler type trailer which would be more suited for it. With a heavier trailer I am hoping that I could possibly haul my tractor and also some firewood with any left over deck space.

Just my opinion but if you have someone ready to buy your existing trailer and you are concerned about hauling your tractor on it with its high center of gravity then sell it and buy a lower decked car hauler.
The car hauler will be able to haul anything you haul on your current trailer. On the plus side, a car hauler will have better support for the flooring and the lower center of gravity. Usually 12-16" spacing instead of your current trailers 4' spacing. I'd stay with a similar length 20-24'.

Tractor with loader and grapple puts alot of weight on the smaller front tires.

That in combination with a 4' span for the 2x6.....I'd be afraid of putting a wheel through a deck board.

Go to Lowe's and buy a $5 2x6.....support it on a couple of cement blocks or pieces of firewood....48" apart.....not to high though. Drive over it and draw your own conclusion

You may need to bolt each end of the 2x6 to something, if it's so on the trailer. In any case, I'd just weld some more supports, to make it 24" centers.

I figured the same about all the above comments. I just wanted to confirm. I will sell it and get the proper one. Thanks
