How To Buy A New Chevrolet Truck?

Even worse is the front license plate they want you to use as a rolling billboard for them. No.
Deere Dude, I'm with you, I paid for the truck not your advertising campaign.
Agreed, and I don't blame them. When it is their truck, fine. When it is mine, I take the cheap plastic license frame off and personalize it the way I want. As far as dealer logos, I've seen them but I have never had a car or truck that came with one. Of course all but just a couple, I bought used and I don't think it is very common around here.

I really don’t see the big deal. You’ve wasted more time complaining than it would take to fix the problem.

Are those tires as good as they look? Nice, aggressive tread, they look like they'd be good for plowing snow.

We keep the dealer plate on our used car.... with it, you get free hand car washes, and they are right next to Dairy Queen! Perfect timing. :licking:

Well, there are no real perks with keeping dealer stuff on my vehicles. I even take a heat gun to any dealer labeling on the rear end of my vehicles and remove the stuff. I even peeled off the Line-X sticker that was placed in the rear window of my pickup when that was done. Any one wants to advertise on the vehicle, they have to pay for the privilege. I don't even put any veteran stuff on my vehicles. Anyone wants to know to about the military, go talk to a recruiter.

Establishing the base line on a deal is simple..... "work your voodoo with the numbers and tell me what you want for me to drive this vehicle off the lot". Either I agree or I walk. The minute they try to add stuff like dealer prep or any other form of nonsense, the deal is off. I asked for a total number to write a check for, not one they can then tack on extras. So they essentially lied to me and can't be trusted. There are at least two things they need to take into account.... there are thousands of other dealers around the country I can go to, and I do not have to buy anything. My last pickup purchase, I had most of the deal done before I even set eyes on the pickup, let alone drive it. I knew what it was, what it had in it, and what I was willing to pay. Dealer offered a number almost right out of the gate that matched close to what I was willing to pay. And that was via email. Dealer was about 65 miles from me.

About the only way I'm going to purchase a new truck - regardless of brand - I'll have to rob a bank - or two.

Even with the new 120 month financing? You'll only pay about double for the truck...
CPO doesn't seem to be a big thing in trucks but in cars a two or three year old vehicle with 30K miles is a much better deal
considering cost per mile and reliability too.

In boats you always wanted to find the guy who had "two-foot-itis ", someone who just wanted a bigger boat for whatever reason and this pristine like new boat is now one third off. I have a good friend with a place in Florida who wants to buy a nice multi engine center console and is seeing prices like half a million bucks. He's just gagging and keeping an eye for a used 5 year old boat.
For a truck, I constantly see folks trading up just for styling. Usually younger guys who don't understand at the end of the year how much of their income went to a truck. Instead of savings...
Most of my firemen friends here aren't driving trucks any older than three years. So someone is getting some good used trucks.
