Around here the mill workers are like that. They take exceptional care of them, washing them 2 or 3 times a week; and never get off the tar.Even with the new 120 month financing? You'll only pay about double for the truck...
CPO doesn't seem to be a big thing in trucks but in cars a two or three year old vehicle with 30K miles is a much better deal
considering cost per mile and reliability too.
In boats you always wanted to find the guy who had "two-foot-itis ", someone who just wanted a bigger boat for whatever reason and this pristine like new boat is now one third off. I have a good friend with a place in Florida who wants to buy a nice multi engine center console and is seeing prices like half a million bucks. He's just gagging and keeping an eye for a used 5 year old boat.
For a truck, I constantly see folks trading up just for styling. Usually younger guys who don't understand at the end of the year how much of their income went to a truck. Instead of savings...
Most of my firemen friends here aren't driving trucks any older than three years. So someone is getting some good used trucks.
Conversely I have a forester friend who trades every 36K; sometimes upgrading in 9 months. =He also takes very good care of his pickup and will get out and walk if there is a chance of scratching it; he also doesn't have a dog. When he trades he gets top dollar; I have seen as many as 3 of his trades on the lot when he drives off with a new one.
