Turn the can upside down to get the last gallon of fuel out.

I just refueled my ck 4010 se factory cab tractor yesterday and got all but a half cup or so out of the yellow 5 gallon can.

Didn’t spill any, either.

I can't speak for the new models, but the rear window on my 2006 DK45SC only opens about 6". On the new models, that would only make it obstruct access to the fill opening worse than when the window is closed...unless (maybe) you conducted the fill operation totally from inside the cab??

My 2017 CK3510SE opens a bit more than that but opening the window also completely obstructs the filler neck from the outside and no way would I want to be trying to fill it from inside the cab and make a giant mess. The mess stays outside that’s part of the reason I have a cab! For me the fuel caddy is the best bet.

So ..... cabs are forbidden in SC? Or do you just wish you’d bought one?

Karma? Or Envy?

I use a Tracy brand +/- 13 gallon fuel caddy for my gasoline mowers, etc. It has 2 wheels, a rubber hose with a right angle shut off ball valve and dispenses via a nylon barbed nipple at the output side of the ball valve. It also allows for a trigger pump handle which I bought but have yet to attach. I put a 8 x 8" PT beam out the gable end of my new shed so I can raise things off the ground like the caddy with a block and tackle. So I lay the caddy flat in my vehicle, put it on the ground at the gas station, fill it up then lift it into the vehicle and strap it down. When I get it home I hook the block/tackle to it and hoist it in the air and then drive my Pro Z to close and use the hose to fill both tanks.

You could easily do the same, though I'm not certain the caddy is designed for diesel, but you could research it or others.

Do you plan to keep that tractor? If so, I would suggest that you bite the bullet and get a fuel pump and a storage tank. The tank could be anywhere from a 55 gallon drum to 100 gallon tank or more depending on your fuel usage. I get mine home delivered from a bulk distributor who requires 150 gallon minimum to prevent a $30 delivery charge so I have a 100 gallon tank with 15GPM Filrite 12V DC pump attached + a 275 gallon TOTE TANK for storage. I empty the 100 gallon tank then install my pump in the 275 gallon Tote Tank to refill the 100 gallon tank that is on rollers. It has a 20 foot hose so I really don't need to roll it around anymore . The battery is semi-permanently attached to the pump with 20 feet of power cable and a battery maintainer on it full time. I just have to pull up to my shop, turn on the pump and drag the hose out to the tractor. All my tanks are either in the front or side of the tractor so 20' of hose reaches without having to move the tank which is on a concrete slab and easily rolled around even when full.

I did the 5 gallon can route for only a few months when I got my first tractor before I found that it was worth the money and safety to get a pump.

I like the idea of a barrel of fuel with a pump but I would need to find a way to get into and out of the bed. this would be good my fel should be able to light it in/out of the when its full 50 gallons/8#/gallon=400# plug tank weight

Do you have pallet forks for your tractor? Strap the fuel transfer tank to a pallet, then use your tractor and pallet forks to load and unload from truck bed.

You’d be lifting 7lb. X 50 gallons + 86lb. Tank = 436lb. plus weight of the pallet.
