That's easy. He is standing on the hood of a Shiny red Tesla automobile.

Ok. Nobody is giving Atlas credit. Without him, Chicken Little would have been correct.

Atlas, in modern depictions, is usually shown holding a spherical Earth, so his myth doesn't apply.

But the ancient Greeks had Atlas standing on Earth, holding up the sky or heavens.

Some folks think the earth is sitting on the backs of 3 really big elephants. And there is plenty of gravity in space. Sure the further you get from the earth the less the gravitational force from the earth is, but there is still gravitational forces acting on you.

I am sure many have not really thought thru why a satellite orbiting the earth actually orbits the earth. The gravitational force is pulling the satellite back down to the center of the earth, but the centripetal force that was imparted into the satellite by its launch and the extreme speed it is traveling wants to fling the satellite out of orbit and into outer space. But the interaction of the two forces are in balance when a satellite is in orbit and and the satellite transcribes a circular path. At least for a while. There are always other forces working on the satellite to slow it down and lose energy. As a satellite slows, it get closer to the earth, and the gravitational force is stronger and a cascading effect pulls the satellite ever closer until it starts bumping into more and more air molecules. Poof!. Satellites have to burn fuel to stay in balance.

Of course I don't have a clue how this could work on a flat earth.

There is a dome above the Earth. So the satelites ride on its inner surface. The centripetal force keps them there. It is the same as the circus atraction where a guy on a motorcycle rides inside a round cage.

Won't work. The antennas would break off.

The guys living down under who wonder why they don't get a headache when they are all life upside down. You are lucky that blood tends staying in your head. It is proven many times over here on the top when a guy gets an errection his brain just goes "puff".

So what happens when someone from the Northern Hemisphere vacations in Aus/NZ?

Or vice versa?

In my Navy days I've sailed across the equator twice (or 4 times going back & forth) AND I've got the certificates, signed by none other than King Neptune himself, to prove it!

No 'edge' and no 'dragons'... well, there were a couple of, shall we say, encounters with what could be perceived as dragons in the 'light of day'... <shudder> but those happened on shore leave in exotic ports.
