Chicken hay in garden

I would just till it in but give it some time to breakdown, is it hay or straw, if hay there could be seeds which will generate some grass.
The manure if used too soon can burn some plants depending how much there was.

We may be in the minority, but I agree with bunyip.

Hum-m-m. Compost it first, mostly due to burning. Weeds are like people ..... there are always some that you don't care for. But that's one of the things that cultivation is about. Planting....cultivating...harvesting is sort of the garden sequence.

I better watch out for sprouting pizza! My chickens love leftover pizza! I bring it home after a work party, and there is nothing left when they are through!

Poultry manure is in high demand here;the big farmers truck it in from 3 hours away to amend their fields.What little I have from my pheasant really makes things grow.Around here you can purchase "pelletized'poultry manure and that's what the Amish use on their gardens.

I would remove the hay. If left on, the soil will be to damp to til in the spring unless you have a really long dry spell.
Just for kicks, I would run the hay through the wood chipper/shredder so it would break down faster, then use it for mulch after planting.
