Can my tractor haul a large rotary cutter?

Nice machine...
How easy is the backhoe removal?
I don't think that is something I would want to do often...
You would be surprised how easy it is to mount and dismount a sub frame back hoe. Maybe five minutes to dismount it in 10 minutes to put it back on. The operative factors here being have it on a flat level surface.
As for the Ops question mines 36 horse and swings a 5 foot with no problem and come to think of it I had no problems for years with an old TO 20 Ferguson that I couldn’t get 26 horse out of itself on a good day. The only thing to remember is if it’s not putting well slowdown. You shouldn’t be but crawling anyways in the rough or you are going to pay for it in equipment damage
Get a slip clutch. I don’t have one and it gets old changing those 5/8” #2 bolts I’m getting one before this season myself, they’re cheap enough on amazon / ebay

Now that I think about it, I did have a 5' bushog on a B7800 (22pto hp) so, as others have said, you should easily run a 6' bushog. I know nothing about the backhoe factor; never had one.

It痴 really not that bad. It is just two pins and the hydraulic lines. Takes 15 min if you leveknit right.

The OP has a construction Loader-Backhoe, not a tractor engineered for field work, although it does have a Three Point Hitch.

What would be the difference?

I perceive your difficulty as finding a Rotary Cutter heavy enough to replace the 1,800 pound Backhoe when removed.

If you mount a 400 to 500 pound Rotary Cutter I doubt you can adjust Top Link sufficiently long to position two cutting blades parallel to the ground.

The BH is heavy but the Tractor weighs about 5,000 lbs by itself son Im not too concerned with keeping the bush hog level.

My concern is my PTO HP is only .5 HP more than the minimum required to operate on the medium duty cutters. I just do t want to damage my tractor

Your opinion. Mine is that yours is nonsense. It has a 3PT hitch and PTO. What part of that is unsuited for a rotary cutter?

I also have an TLB a John Deere 110.
I have also been considering a bush hog that can cut thick brush.
I will be watching this thread,
Thanks

I don't think you will find that turning the shaft of the heavy duty bush hog is any more difficult than a light duty one. You can get gear boxes of the same HP rating in both machines. The difference is in the thickness of the steel which will make a difference in the weight that you need to lift with the 3 PH.
I had a 6' light duty Howse bush hog that I ran with a 45HP (engine) tractor and routinely cut 3" diameter pine trees with it. I would just use the FEL to ride them over (caution: do not ever back up while doing this) and then ease the bush hog into the trunk. It will cut it like butter. The load comes as you try to mulch the limbs which may require you to lift the bush hog deck up and down a bit to prevent stalling the tractor. You shouldn't have a problem running a 6' deck for most work. If the load gets too heavy in thick cover, just overlap the cut area enough so you aren't stalling your tractor's engine.

The only bad thing about a light duty deck is that the sheet metal tends to bend easily especially on the sides when the blades are throwing large rocks into it. It will also rust out quicker than a heavy duty one.
For normal grass and weed mowing a light duty one works well and will take many years for rust thru to occur.

Im enjoying the ‘discussion’ on TLB vs traditional tractors. Not sure why people think they are any different.
