Yanmar tractor parts-Air filter/Fuel filter

Are you sure your air filter is not washable and reusable like forever? Most OEM Yanmar air filters are. The WIX site used to list air filters, but no more, apparently.

Some of those after market filters are not correct. They sit in there but the top and bottom don't make a seal and can suck dirt around it. Is your tractor worth $45 every few years?

And I agree with norm unless you chunk ed your yanmar filter or some hack did before you it can be washed. Heck you can was a paper filter with somewhat success in a pinch.

I still have and use the filter that came with my 2000. I bought it from Spalding as I stated before. And then bought another from Fredricks in 1/09. I have one clean when I get the Tractor out from sitting during the winter. No harm no fowl as they say.

When I bought my Yanmar it had a aftermarket filter that wasn't tall enough so I replaced it with one from Hoye. Filter doesn't do any good if air just goes around it. Whatever you use make sure it is sealing properly.

ALL filters are aftermarket. The Hoye filters, HAF-9(422-76)5 and HAF-9(460-22)5, are WIX. I am sure Yanmar does not manufacture filters.

FWIW. the filter I purchased for the 2000 is a AF-6022M and is the same as the one that was in it when I purchased it. This is Fredricks though. I looked at the box it came in and no After market Manufacturer. My invoice# matches my parts book..

Not correct. Please be careful with those numbers- especially with the 6022 filters. The Wix and every other name brand '6022' filter that I have ever seen are too skinny and will not seal. Many of our customers have found that the hard way. The '6022' filter, for example, that we sell is manufactured specifically for the Yanmar. It is not just a re-branded wix or other filter that you can get off the shelf of a local parts store.

Is the AF-6022M filter you bought from Fredricks a washable filter?

For my use I just have to blow them out with the air. Blowing inside out lightly. Honestly I don't know if they are washable. I have no oil blow by so no need to. If there was then I would try it I'm sure.
