Irrefutable imperical proof of how to handle snow

Last spring I got a second Goldoni walk behind tractor. The best looking / best price ratio one I could find came with a snowblower (and another rotovator which I didn't need). He didn't want to sell separately, so I figured, after last winter's 3 solid months with substantial snow cover, at least a snowblower will make my life easier. Likewise here, not enough snow this year to justify hooking it up.

A 1977 Jeep full sized Cherokee with 7-1/2' Fisher plow was wonderful.
My buddy had one as well. Lived in Beverly MA during the Blizzard of ?8. The town gave him the option of plowing for them under contract, or they were going to commandeer it, so he spent th next 4-5 days following around a dump truck and front end loader to do clean up.

I want pictures of the Unimog. They are my version of pornography. Never has a more incredible machine been devised, my favorite is the backhoe/loader version.

In Bavaria there are blue/white 吐og poles every 100m on certain sections of twisty roads (they are green/white elsewhere in Germany). My favorite attachment was an arm that fit on the RF to wash the poles.

Well, we will see if this train of thought works in reverse. I checked our local forecast for the next 1 1/2 months and saw no snow mentioned (except for flurries) so yesterday I removed the QA snowplow and put the bucket back on then took off the rear snowblower.
If the forecast is correct then I got a jump on it. If the theory works in reverse the east coast better watch out.

Let us know at the end of March how it worked.

I think you are likely talking about 83? Mrs. and I drove a Ford Granada to Danbury CT on a Friday? evening. As we entered CT snow became a problem. I pride myself on winter driving, and we made it around thousands of stranded cars in the city. We made it to our destination, and parked for the night. Next morning the engine wouldn't turn over. Getting the hood open, the blanket inside the hood tore. It was frozen into a solid block of ice. It took time to break away enough ice around the air intake, and belt area to turn, and start. Running the engine, it eventually softened the ice enough to clean it out. I remember Danbury's snow accumulation as 32" of heavy, wet snow with a cold night following, which froze it in place. Three days later, the city was clear enough to leave, but the clean up was not complete.

Here's one that provides some scale for the blower head, and has a shot of the SEE Unimog for Willie. BTW, check out the bucket on that mog's hoe.

I believe the hoe is common to Italian built Case backhoes, I don't recognize the loader. It looks indestructible! All this with Mercedes quality!

Fattire, I'm in the process of taking off the snow plow and attaching the dethatcher for over seeding and then putting on the rototiller. Trees are budding and Spring flowers look to be days away from blooming. If your experiment comes true many and much of blooming flora will be decisively disappointed.

Same is true of any equipment. Wire the house for generator and see how often the power goes out.
