New Plasma Cutter on a budget

This is one thing that bothers me about the Lotos 50 Amp Non-Touch Pilot Arc Inverter Plasma Cutter:

"Compatible consumables for this machine are Lotos PCON only"

Has this been a problem for anyone? Do the Everlast plasma cutters use proprietary consumable or standard "buy at any welding/TSC/coop store" type stuff?

I have an Everlast 50P and buy my consumables on Ebay....cheap and easy. I've had it about 5 years and its been excellent.

Everlast uses name brand cloned torches, so you can get consumables almost any where. I can get them at my local farm store and welding shop. Even harbor freight has the 50amp consumables

pilot arc torch consumable set


These are the pilot arc ones for the LTPDC2000D , LTP5000D worked well for my Lotos and 50 pieces for $28 is pretty reasonable

Well it is the common standard for the inexpensive pilot arc chinese plasma cutters in the 50-60 amp range.
Take a close look at your plasma torch, my guess is it has SG 55 cast into the body.

PCON only seems to be a Lotos designation. I do not know the origin of these torches, but consumables are widely available through mail order at some of the least expensive prices for any of the plasma cutters.

Maybe someone that does know the origin of the SG-55 AG-60 can shed some light on who /when/where the torches came from.

I have not seen them at our LWS or farm stores that carry welding supplies

The prices are reasonable enough from River Weld and other online suppliers that I just make sure to keep several spares on hand and order more before I get down to just a few consumables.

HD in Ponderay, ID is wonderful on the discount. Lowes in CDA, ID won't accept an ID driver's license annotated with "veteran" or a VA card that does not say "service connected". I am service connected disabled so Lowes is OK. They told me it was up to the store manager whether they offer Vet discount or not.
