PLAIN & SIMPLE !!
It is illegal to dispense non ethanol fuel from a pump (with aviation exception) in Massachusetts!

No matter how many internet listings are given, those locations simply cannot violate the law.
If they do sell non ethanol gas it MUST be in 5 gal. sealed cans!
In my case, even the closest of those to me, is over a 100 mile round trip, and the gas is $15 per gal.

I give up!
Apparently, many here cannot accept facts.

I would move out of Massachusetts.

Several of the high performance saw companies use compression ratios around 10:1 or even higher in some saws, there for call for 89 or higher fuel.

My new Stihl recommends 89. Min compression per the book is 90 psig when repair is advised. That doesn't sound like high compression to me! 10:1 with atmospheric at 14.7 looks like 147 psig. Be more like 8:7, for 128.

I would move out of Massachusetts.

Moving out is really not an option for me.
I am 77 years old, and have my 287 year old family home and acreage there, in trust for my children.
I do have life estate (meaning I use, and take care of the place).
I really only spend a few months there, as I am in Florida each winter, and in Nova Scotia for 3 months.
I just try the best I can, to deal with the likes of the Pocahontas mentality.

Usually, in these cases, instead of using more exclamation points, just post a link to the Mass. law and be done with it.

I think what you are confusing, is that most of us can not imagine any state that could create such a law that lacks factual support for creating ethanol only choices at pumps.

Let's be clear what I'm saying. E10 is not an energy conserving product. The cost to produce fuel rated ethanol is high because transport of the raw materials is fuel consuming and expensive (typically trucked) anditisvery bulky. In addition it uses huge amounts of water and pollutes the air with significant smell that is very unpleasant. In other words it is not a healthier choice for numerous reasons. In addition it is expensive to make and many producers have ceased production or reduced building plans for new facilities since the federal assistance payments stopped.

Typically the averages are that a vehicle running e10 will get a lower Mpg average by 8% to 12% than the same vehicle using e0.

For all these reasons, banning e0 is not a "healthy state focus" for breathing or its quality. E10 was originally created as a very high govt supported effort to reduce gasoline demand when we were importing nearly 50 % of our oil. But that is no longer the case and our ground quality where corn was grown every year for contract ethanol production has suffered also.

It's not simply an issue of freedom of choice, it's a health and earth issue too and ethanol is not efficient or highly profitable anymore.

He's not confusing anything. He can't understand why people keep giving him links to places that sell E0 fuel from pumps, when apparently there aren't any. It's all canned. It shows up on the E0 gas finder apps but those apps don't tell you it's not pumped, it's canned. Yet people keep telling him over and over again its available from pumps. I'd get a bit perturbed, too. :laughing:

Just keep reminding him that non of us care for his state's politics and that we think he should move. That should make him feel better.

I looked for the law he's citing, but my google-fu is weak tonight. Perhaps its the sinus infection and bronchitis meds... or the beer? Maybe someone else can find it?
