View attachment 542742Any advise would be appreciated... I have a Rhino SE6 cutter, I guess I have learned the hard way that when the drive shaft is seised up (rust from sitting-and yes I do grease it~maybe, possibly not good enough) it should be taken off before chaining it up and pulling it apart. I got it freed up, greased it and was cutting with it for about an hour when the gear box housing literally broke in two, the front half of it fell off/apart.I am not inclined to "fix" the thing myself but I am wondering if it would be better to buy a new part and find someone to fix it or just buy a new cutter, which I also am not looking forward to. The deck, blades and all else are fine on mine.
Thanks, Laura
I just got a new Surplus Center Catalog (site advertiser) and they had a nice selection of gear boxes for reasonable prices!
Your problem is getting it replaced. ??
Just FYI, I don't believe trying to pull that drive shaft apart is what caused it to break, it had two broken teeth on the gear and looks like the loose medal caused it to break...LWFin;5 018953 said:View attachment 542742Any advise would be appreciated...
