I'm headed to Verizon this morning with my Apple SE and ask them to compare mb charges between the phone and my MIFI.
The latter costs 45 bucks a month, if I can get rid of it, without slowing everything down too bad, for sure!
And they sold me the Apple too.
Taking this laptop with me to make sure it all works before I head out the door.
thanks for info.

On your SE, Drew, go into Settings, the Personal Hotspot. Turn it on. Set a password if it doesn't already have one.

On your laptop, go into the WiFi settings and find the WiFi network called iPhone SE.

All of this is in the instructions on the Personal Hotspot window in the first step above. Data rates are the same as what your phone already has, as all you're doing is using the phone's data plan. Be aware that laptops will pull larger format images and video than the phone, so you'll use more data when your laptop is tethered. That said, my SE only has a 2 Gb/mo data plan and when I've tethered my laptop, I didn't have any problems with exceeding the limits. YMMV...

Surflan, .75%

What’s the pre emergent application rate for sand burrs with Surflan? I’m asking because I have an area in back that is a former crop field and even with a thick grass barrier it’s full of burrs.

Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 7:45AM. Cloudy early with peeks of sunshine expected late. High 61F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.

Almost 3/4" of rain overnight, then a couple days of sunshine, followed by a week of showers. I don't mind the rain at all, and in fact wish it was a lot more than showers. The snowpack is still only 37% of normal state wide, and much less than that here in the north state. We need another March Miracle, and so far Mother Nature hasn't gotten the memo.

Moved a couple of area rugs around earlier to keep the Roomba from getting stuck, and now it's not going into the master bedroom. Found out that the "cliff sensors" that are designed to detect stairs and other ledges also prevent the fool thing from sweeping over dark colored floor areas. I found references going all the way back to 2005 about the problem! Also found that taping pieces of white paper or aluminum foil over the sensors is a widely used fix. Of course, that means the thing'll dive off a cliff just like a lemming, but there aren't any around here so this morning I'll give it a try. I did call iRobot and talked to a rather ditzy tech about it, but all she could suggest was that I deploy one of the light walls to keep the Roomba off the carpet. Now why would I need a light wall to keep it off the carpet when it won't go over it all by itself, AND I actually WANT the Roomba go clean the carpet? I was one click away from returning the whole thing at Amazon when I did the google search that turned up the fix. Still thinking about it, as I was also under the impression that the 980 was a new model, but it has been out for at least three years. That leaves me thinking that a newer model is probably coming soon, one that hopefully addresses the cliff and other idiosyncrasies I also read about, so Hazel may just go back into her box and take that last ride back to Amazon. We shall see.

Made the clutch adjusting bolt, but it's probably a bit long, though good enough for now. Also got a coat of paint on the Vanagon console, but the paint had gelled and it looks like it was splatter painted. Looks OK, but not what I was expecting. Today's grocery day, so I'll swing by the mechanic's to see what the excuses are this time around and also test fit the panel. The SPOT tracker also needs new batteries, so it's on the list, too.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

61°F and only .08 inches rain. A bit cool, but drier.

We love our heated seats. Feels so good on those body aches. Wish my Tundra had them. Also like our sun roof. Unlike many people, we rarely run the AC in our vehicles preferring the flow of fresh air.

Not much planned for today. Need to assemble a by pass for my UV filter so I can rebuild the filter.

Invited to dinner at friends later. My last splurge before concerted effort to lose some pounds.

Prayers for all

Be safe
Have a great day

Surflan, .75%

Thanks. Just looked the Surflan AS up, as I wasn’t familiar with it. Have you used it before on sand burrs? They didn’t show on the list of weeds controlled.

One of my neighbors tried DuPont Pastora (post emergent) with pretty good results. Application rate is 1-1.5 oz. / acre.

Good afternoon everyone-

We got 14" of snow which compacted down to 11" by the time I got around to moving it this AM. That makes +66" of fallen snow for the season so far; still below the norm. A couple of 2' drifts. Not too many divots dug up, but the one's that I did were decent sized :embarrassed: Not much that one can do with heavy, wet snow on top of soft ground surface.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all.
