Hi all, I've been lurking for a while but am now getting ready to pull the trigger on a compact utility tractor, probably one of the Orange ones... We have a relatively small (2-3 Acre) mostly wooded lot here in the southern tip of Maine. We will use the "expensive wheelbarrow" for property maintenance, snow removal, and clearing a bit of the land for a barn/garage in the next couple years. I've learned a TON just reading on here for months, I can't wait to be an active participant.

Tractors under 25-horsepower are exempt from the stringent, Tier IV emission controls which abruptly increase a tractor's cost about $3,000 above the 25-horsepower demarcation.

Consider the Kubota L2501. Around $18,000 equipped.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm down to small frame vs. larger frame Kubota and Kioti, so B2650/L2501 and CK2610. Although, the 35 horse CK3510 is very competitively priced and optioned against the L2501.

I like the B2650/3350, but the L model Kubotas and CK2610/3510 Kioti's are both around 1000Lbs heavier. I think I'll want the extra weight, plus, as a, "Larger American" (we're a protected class you know :) ) I like the size and comfort of the larger tractor.

I agree about the extra weight and you will sure be glad that you have it when trying to clear land and move snow.

Selling a used tractor is easy. Selling light implements in order to buy heavier, wider, implements for a heavier tractor you take a hit in depreciation. Passing time with multiple browsers is a pain. ((Ask me how I know.))

Buy enough tractor.

Evaluating by weight and personal comfort in the seat is the best way to evaluate tractor models.
