I would rather disconnect my hoses so they are not stressed when I back away and then have JIC for ease of connection and fewer leaks. Just my :2cents:

Agreed. I dropped the grapple off the SSQA once. It bent the JIC fitting and broke the hydraulic coupling on the Gehl skid steer it was on. The fitting snapping off the cylinder or the hose breaking is really the best case scenario here. The chances of everything surviving a drop like that is slim and busting the cylinder or the hydraulic quick attach couplings is a lot more expensive.

First issue I see is dropping a load directly on the fire. If his tractor stalls on a big fire the tractor could be toast. A better way is to drop in front of the fire and push the load into the fire, I have done that a thousand times. Second issue, most retracted levers are out of the way of debris so I don’t see how the lever would get bent if retracted. And they BOTH got bent and opened? Maybe he has them teamed together? One side would hold the grapple on......... Seems to be operator error which we all can do.

EA makes a good grapple and Ted is on his game. I just don’t like NPT fittings. Just my :2cents:

The new Wicked 60 has finally made it's way onto a tractor!! First stop is our Kubota L6060, but Ted will be testing it on something a bit larger!
Check out that full 40" opening.

A little about the material used in this Beast. The serrated upper and lower tines you see are laser cut 3/8" thick AR400. We don't just use regular pipe to join the tines and form the hinges. The round material is actually DOM tubing, which has a higher tensile strength and yield strength than regular pipe. Things like this cost more $$, but money is far from the first thing we consider when designing our grapples for you guys!!
