Randy thanks for noticing the change side view of house two years ago

I would say I'm very fortunate with vehicles something wife and I enjoy together hopefully some time we can see yours

Hopefully Ellen is ok now

I just left her, she cooked us a great Mexican lasagna, and we had seat time on the sofa and settled a lot of world issues in front of her wood stove, dog in one lap, cat in the other.

My past includes a lot of very nice classic cars, this old Monte is nice but not particularly special. It makes a fun distraction though.

You have a beautiful place, I壇 love to see it sometime. Maybe when we come over to Front Royal next time, maybe we can drive by and check it out, Ellen wants to hit Skyline Drive for a ways.

Are you strict plant based? Do you consume any cholesterol?

No I don't have near the self discipline for that but I certainly respect you for doing it.You are the only one I have ever heard about it from.I have seen many cardiologists for various reasons and the only one that has ever mentioned diet said to cut out salt and eat in moderation. My old primary doc was a Seventh Day Adventist and recommended a vegetarian diet for cholesterol and he had more health problems than me.He was tall and thin but had diabetes and always said that I was the one that should have it.He retired and my current primary doc talks salt free and high iron diet but not vegetarian.

You guys ever try a potassium tablet?

I agree, all the electrolytes get can get out of balance. In pickle juice you get salt plus the benefits of vinegar. Could be any of them causing the issue though, Sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium, magnesium, or phosphate.

Blue Ridge Parkway not too far from me love to have you both stop by for a visit. Right now I have five inches of snow and climbing 32 degrees

I'm advanced because of my heart disease, my options are hard. For the people who have not had a heart incident and come clean on the calcium heart test there are beginner's options like I explained above. They are easy just serious portion control and some meals without added cholesterol.

Don, what do you think about the Heartsaver CT scan at Austin Heart hospital for $149.00 Is it even worth someone's time? My doc said he would start with a stress test.

Sorry to hear that, but glad we missed it. I’m sure the Parkway would suit her fine. How far Front Royal are you? It likely will be late April before we get in the region.

My best friend and I used to golf, after work, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, walking the course with carry bags, Winter and Summer. In Summer, we’d take a potassium tablet at the turn to preclude leg cramps. I carried a bottle of potassium tabs in my bag.

Golf cart on weekend when our C.C. course was busy. We’d still grab a banana at the turn.

I’ve done same at Ranch, in Summer, when sweating a lot. Potassium has solved leg cramps for me.

Pickle juice and mustard probably work but, difficult to carry around with you.

Good evening all. 62F this morning, light wind and sunny sky. wind picked up a bit then had a wind shift, sky mostly sunny all day, and high temp of 85F. bike ride on the agenda this morning, lunch and nap then too close to dinner to leak test boat. had 2 flats on rear tire, made it in on "borrowed" tire. Found glass shard in old tire that was nicking the tube.:confused2::thumbdown:

42 with a misty blowing rain all day out of the east. We hardly ever get rain from the east.

Buppies. Late spring?

Went to lunch with wife and her family to celebrate her mother’s birthday. Had a good buffet at her moms favorite bbq place. I used to like it but when I worked in town as an agronomist that is where all the out of town reps. wanted to eat. I had 8 meals there in 5 days one week. Still haven’t reacquired the taste for the place.

Then home to move feed and fill the creep feeder for the cows. Ordered 3 tons of feed this morning should be here Wednesday.

Don. Never looked at a golf cart so don’t know much about them. But I wanted something to work out of. Haul feed, move fuel(I have a 50 gallon diesel tank that fits in my bed), pull fencing trailer and 4wd was a must. My 3/4 ton pickup is too heavy here in the winter. And so are tractors. A light foot print is a must. I wanted something capable of hauling and towing and still carry multiple people. And I didn’t want Electric. My ranger will haul 6 people and 1,000 pounds in the bed, or tow 2,000 pounds but is capable of 55 down the road if I need to run to a different farm or the neighbors.

Ouch! Sorry about that fall Thomas...I was going to write a joke and ask if the tractor was OK, but my goodness, I'll just hope you are not too bruised up. :)

Ed, prayers for y'all.

Buppies, love the new picture.

Busy Days here.

Yesterday, 12 year old got selected to throw the discus for the 7th grade track team. She was so nervous, she nearly begged me to go to it. I had initially told her I had too much to do, but the wifey got all cleaned up and we went. Ended up having to walk and stand, walk and stand, walk and stand. It didn't help that I kept needing to go pee cuz I drank 2 huge glasses of water about 30 mins earlier...
She didn't do so great. She really only likes to play volleyball out of the 3 sports they do yearly. Fortunately we were able to check her out early and leave. Some had to stay from 2:30 until 10 pm.

Got up today. Cooked the kids some Jimmy Deans natural breakfast sausage. Don would be a millisecond proud of me because I didn't have even a smidge after cooking it all. Just ate some dry cereal with no fat.

Took the daughter about 65 miles away to Bryan/College Station to get some mushroom compost and garden dirt. We ended up taking about another 7 bags of stuff to a 2nd hand resale charity too. Got about 2 yards of dirt on my 16' tandem axle trailer and slowly and steadily drove it home. The Yukon XL 1500 handles it fine but I could tell it was using up most of the brakes' ability.

When I got home, I decided I needed to finally fix my FEL's lift cylinder. I had bought the parts Friday. Watched a couple of videos and went to it. It is not easy, if you are not set up to do it. Getting the piston out with it's snap ring is a bit of a beast.....But, after fighting everything I got it done and started offloading the compost. Once I got about 60% off the trailer, I use the 5420 to lift the front of the trailer high enough to dump the rest of the load on the grass. I put it all in the garden, shoveling the last couple of buckets to topdress the existing plants. I need about another 5 yards of the stuff, but not until next winter. Drew, I already have quarter sized celebrity tomatoes.

Finally, my daughter wanted to work on the chicken coop and we did for maybe an hour. But I admit, I was tuckered out by then. Need to go buy some 2x4's, hardware cloth, red paint, shorter screws, and a piece of linoleum to put on the floor for easy cleaning.

Hope all of you have a blessed day and prayers for our team.

Don thanks for the caffeine info, 1 or 2 cups of 1/2 caffeine, 1/2 decaf then straight decaf the rest of the day. Yes you win the bet . can't TBN on the bike, but then don't get to see this on a treadmill :D

You can get electrolytes to add to water bottles, I use then regularly March through November. During long supported ride will hit the pickle juice as well.

Buppies do like your new avatar.

Prayers for all.

You guys ever try a potassium tablet?

No but I do drink a lot of Gatorade. It’s fairly high in potassium plus sodium (salt). Anything here at home is cooked with sea salt. We both have high blood pressure. Mines mostly genetic.

Power keeps going on and off here looks like about 7 inches of very heavy wet snow and by the looks of the flood lights a winter wonder land pine trees touching the ground lots of folks without power 57000 at last count. I think they will be lucky if the race happens

The sad thing about the avatar that tree was cut down about a year ago and everything redone new sidewalk new landscaping things that bloom almost three full seasons. The tree was not taken care of before we got here was becoming leggy and was getting into the septic system so it had to go. I thought it was beautiful so that picture lets it live on

good morning all. 37 degrees in steady rain, 3/4 inch since last night, should total about an inch when done later today; this is the snow event Buppies is having. Speaking of Buppies, wouldn't it be nice if when you clicked on someone's avatar it got bigger? Hard to see the details.

One of the big differences in 4 place UTV's is that the passengers face forward. That's a lot more pleasant when showing folks around the farm.
UTV's also have much higher towing and load capacity than golf carts. I own both, and use the golf cart way more than the UTV. Once you have an electric golf cart (not for those big Texas ranches...) you won't go back, the things are so darned reliable and useful. I even have a "normal" golf cart and not a jacked up one, and it goes just about anywhere. Except mud. Golf carts do not like mud, that's where the UTV just sails on through. I do agree that many UTV's could easily be replaced with golf carts for a lot less money, no tuneups, etc.

Thomas, hope you are feeling better, sorry for the fall. Yesterday I slipped on straw on a little slope and wound up almost face first in the garden. After I picked myself up and was thankful everything worked, was a lot more careful where I put my feet. And thought to myself, that could have been a lot worse...

Ever since I switched from ketchup (yes self administered red sugar...) to mustard, I have had almost no cramps. It works.

Good morning all, 25 going to 42 today. The snow went south of us so we had a dry day yesterday. Dr called last night and he is cautiously optimistic. No crashes of her systems and some very slight improvements. We will take all of the improvements we can get slight or not. Met with a lady that will take care of the boy if wife and I need to go out. Haven't been out together alone for about a year, hope to get a date for lunch with her soon.

Thomas, Praying you feel better soon.

RIP, still praying for you and your wife.

Praying for those in need. Have a great day. Ed

Poured first cup of coffee. 20° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 38° with lots of sun. Got a few things done outside before wind came up and made it uncomfortable. PTO shaft is a no go. Going to send it back to Amazon. Not even close as advertised. Going to visit my Aunt and Uncle in Port Huron today. No other plans.

I have a golf cart. Just perfect for my 4 acres. During the winter it would be nice to have a UTV. But better to stay inside where it's warm and no snow. I did put tires with a grip on rear. Solves the light snow and mud season problems.

Thomas, hope injures heal quick.

Buppies, nice Avatar. Need a little weather advice. Want to take snowplow off tractor. But keep worrying about one of those nasty spring snow storms. We missed one Friday that dropped 5" mid IN and IL. Looking for SE Michigan info.

Don, remind me to try something else if I get a doctor prescription for Statins. My current condition is cholesterol borderline and passed the calcium test with less than 25%.

Got another sad call yesterday. Best friend from work wife called to tell me he has been put on Hospice. Another lung cancer patient.

Ed, Prayers for your mom.

Prayers for all those in need.

Good Morning All.

a nice dishtowel friends just sent me

as I sit here waiting for the sun to come up, rain is slowly working its way out

just finished writing to Delaware DOT, for the third time. They must have problems with their EZpass system, and
real drones working there. I gave them paper proof that PA EZpass made an error in entering my new Subaru,
clear as day..., and yet they came back with a demand I prove I had money in my account that day.
Wouldn't have made a difference, the car was entered wrong, would have bounced anyway.
Yet they continue to demand.

I told them to nicely pound sand and that I already proved I was not in error.
If you write to the head guy, the problem is almost always solved immediately, assuming one's issue is legitimate.
Otherwise they now want almost a hundred bucks. For a four dollar toll.
And they really hope I'm dumb enough to send in a check.
I promptly paid their four bucks btw. It's the processing surcharges and fines
that are simply highway robbery.
Highway robbery.
