My G3038H has a similar problem but not the issue with speedy reverse. My creeps after letting off on the pedals, more pronounced when it's cold out. I don't know about an adjustment, you can crawl under and see if the linkage is bent or maybe a stick or rock or mud is stuck behind something keeping you from getting full pedal travel in forward.

I crawled under to take a look. The linkage isn’t bent but definitely out of adjustment. I even notice the reverse pedal sitting higher than the forward . Thanks for the info.

To TBN. As you have already learned, TBN has All the answers.
Most of the time, pictures will help others to better be able to answers question.
But then we always love pictures anyway even if no questions. :D

Do you have an operator's manual? My XR3135 HC has the complete procedure for adjusting the HST pedals listed in the maintenance section towards the rear of the manual

Great. I only thought of that because I got a great bloody stick stuck in the linkage while hauling brush and couldn't get the tractor to move backwards. I really need to build a skid plate for that critter before I do some real damage using it like a skid-steer.
