Going to purchase a new tractor this summer and while I'm not getting grapple or backhoe attachments right away, I would like the option to add them later on. What do I need to order on the tractor (rear remotes or 3rd function valve) in order to be able to hook them up when I purchase them in the future?

Just share your plans with dealers you shop at & hear the options. I was sold on the Branson’s offer. Got 2 rear remotes and a 3rd function as part of the package for Avery good price & haven’t regretted since.

I would recommend a subframe mount over a 3PH mount hoe. Kioti's KB 2485 is an AWESOME hoe on my DK-40se/hst Kioti. It can be connected to the supplied rear remotes, depending on model tractor you choose. A second pair of rear remotes can be dealer or self added as needed.

Adding the appropriate hydraulics later isn't hard. It will be slightly easier & cheaper to get at least the 3rd function on the loader with the machine, but not much. Don't worry about the hydraulics for the hoe if there is any doubt about getting the hoe.

A 3rd function on generally runs around $1k. More useful than plumbing for a hoe, if you don't get a grapple, but still probably not worth it if you don't get an impliment that needs it.

Thanks guys, maybe I'll wait on the hoe hookups then. The grapple bucket would come before the 'hoe so maybe I'll just do that. What would I need to add now (when ordering the tractor) so that I'm all set up for the grapple when I purchase that next year?

Most brands will offer a 3rd function option for the FEL which will run the Grapple or any other FEL attachment that requires hydraulics.

A 3rd function on the loader. Either a diverter valve or a true dedicated 3rd function valve will work. A diverter might be a bit cheaper, a true 3rd function, especially in a 3 spool monoblock with the lift & curl valves will have some advantages. Talk to your dealer about what they offer. Advantages of one type over the other aren't huge, so no need to get excited about them if your dealer only offers one type.
