Which is better - Remedy or 2-4D

I have to spray a lot of woody weeds. Can someone tell me what is best remedy or 2-4d. also if you factor in costs of the herbicide and how many gallons each product will produce, is one better than the other? also, any recommendation on where to purchase the herbicide for the cheapest cost?

24d is cheaper.

Just a quick google turned up 1 gallon remedy for ~$80. And application of 2-3 quarts per acre. So ~$40 per acre

ester 24d I apply 20oz per acre. 2.5 gallons cost ~$50 locally. 2.5 gallons will treat 16 acres. So about $3 per acre.

That said.....dont know what works well for what you want. Dont know just what kind of "woody" weeds you have. Find something specifically designed to kill what you want.....look at active ingredients......then search that ingredient for a generic alternative and save some $$$. Thats what I do

IMO, it depends on how "woody." 2, 4-D will be less expensive if it is effective against the weeds in question. The triclopyr in Remedy is more effective against many woody plants (tree saplings, etc.)

I would check the 2,4 -D label to see if it is effective against your weed species.

You might want to think about Crossbow or Crossroads (a generic Crossbow). They contain a mix of 2,4-D and triclopyr.

Rural King has good prices if you have one nearby.

Could hot mix 24-d and remedy. I’ll spray Grazon with remedy at times.

Absolutely read the label and figure out which one treats the stuff you want dead. 24d will be cheaper, but not if it does not work.

Is Remedy another name for Crossbow? Garlon (tricopyr) is good for most woody shrubs, add a little 2,4-D and you have Crossbow. It will handle poison oak, poison ivy, blackberries, and many junk trees. Be careful to keep it away from desired species. I killed a coast myrtle that I wanted to keep just by getting close to it.

No, Remedy is just triclopyr.

two things we need so the talent here can help.
1- where are you located?
2- name of the woody plants.

Question do you have a local county extension agent? Have you spoken with him. That is one of his functions is to help land owners. They are a wealth of knowledge on what the most effective herbicide works for your situation. Also, they conduct classes so you can get a license and get the good stuff.
