Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 5:15AM. Mainly sunny. High near 65F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Little Gloria's arrival would have been front page news in most cities in the US, Andrew. Not everyday that a woman gives birth in a car, or even at home for that matter.

Started pulling parts off the big dual sport bike yesterday in preparation to taking in the transmission and cylinder heads in for refurbishment later this week. Both have over 100,000 miles, and are starting to show their age. Also made a couple of knobs for the 4WD console in the van, and have a little more work to do on it so the LED panel has a place to mount. Turns out that the CAD model used for the 3D printing of the console was far from complete, and not very accurate, which makes more fiddling necessary.

Windy with the skies threatening rain most of yesterday, so no motorcycle ride, but the sun came out in time for a nice sunset and things will be perfect for one today. Should be interesting.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend!

About 40 out this AM. Nice sunshine. Odd day yesterday. Called the non-emergency number and decided to light the burn pile. Only took a few hours. Went up about twice as fast as I thought it would. Between the snow showers and the wind, containment was perfect. Now I get to add my cedars to it this AM.

Prior to yesterday, I had the local firetruck show up in the driveway. They were looking for a fire. I think someone had mistaken a controlled burn at the base for something else. Better safe than sorry. We have had quite a few families displaced by fires these past few months in this area.

Other than the burn pile add-on today, I need to get me some ground hogs. Seems I have a lot of activity in the horse pastures I need to be concerned about. I'd love to shoot them, just don't have the time anymore. So it is bomb and bury.

Have a great day all. Enjoy the day of rest! Be safe.

Ever think about an SUV rather than a sedan? More room, and they're pretty comfortable. Of course, I'm a truck guy, so my concept of comfort probably differs from yours, Drew.

Your "older car"...is that the Jaguar sedan? I'd written a post a while back (in this forum)...used Jags are comparatively hard to sell. Their reliability has never been outstanding and folks know it.....beautiful cars though... I'm not surprised the dealer is trying to lowball the value. He probably knows it'll be setting on his lot for a while.

I always thought the old Jaguar XKE of the 1960s was the prettiest car ever built. If I could have afforded it, I'd probably have had one, but it just wasn't going to happen. However, I got acquainted with a Dallas radio station disk jockey who drove one. That was a bit surprising since I think he had 4 or 5 kids. But he also told me, that like me, he thought that Jaguar XKE was beautiful, but . . . . he said it was hard to get in and out of, terribly uncomfortable and rough riding, hard to steer, etc. Best looking, sorriest car in the world, according to him, and I believe it.

I gravitated to the Datsun 240,280's because of the look. Wish I still had the 280.

I had an E-Type Jaguar...bought it with my re-enlistment money in '73 or '74. Mine was a 1968 coupe (not the 2+2). It was a great and very beautiful car...and, pretty reliable. Due to the low hood and small intake, E-types had two electric fans for the radiator. I had few problems, but the fans would blow the fuse on a regular basis. Fortunately, the fan circuit also had the tachometer in it, so as soon as the tach stopped working, I knew I had to replace the fuse.
Jag was pretty...but I had a Porsche 911S later...and the Porsche was the better sports car.

Andrew- Thanks for sharing the wife-approved pictures of Gloria. She's a cutie. That yawn is contagious. Thanks for sharing. I have a lot of respect for anyone who home births. Some of my male friends seemed in worse shape than their wives during their birthing experiences. They certainly complained more.

A mostly sunny early AM with temperature in the low 20F's. Clouds are moving in in advance of the next weather system- No biggie for NE, nuisance snow/rain showers; but we need the rain.

The early Spring migrating birds have starting arriving.

David- Good luck with the Ham Tech quiz.

Not much going on today but moving wood and dog walking.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all.

Have a good day everyone.

It was 29* this morning with a dusting of snow. Had rain most of yesterday and the wind picked up last night. The sun is out now but they are calling for more rain with the temperature in the mid 40's and more wind. At least some of the snow is melting.

Worked on the harbor freight welder yesterday, I think I got it fixed. Might run it for awhile today to make sure. Need to run up to a neighbors place and see if I can get in and do a couple of burn piles for him. I should have done them last fall.

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday.
CWB.

Roy, your new gun on order looks really futuristic, sure it isn't a ray gun? ;)
and the Audi Q5 is a compact SUV, not a sedan. I tried to sit in an A5 coupe, which was my first choice, but
my head banged on the door frame every time. I can just clear with the Q5, Q7 added another inch but I didn't want the larger size or three rows.
4cylinder turbo had plenty of grunt, I was pleasantly surprised.

I think I have a good lead where I can put the car on consignment at a used fancy import place in next town over. That gets the general public out of my face
and no phone calls. Easily worth a couple grand to me if they will ask enough for the car.

Roy, you have owned some neat cars. We spend too much money on them but they sure are fun.
