Made it to 65 today. Currently 54. 78 tomorrow.

Got all feed down and heaters on for birds tomorrow. Get all 4 barns filled tomorrow. All windows and fans are installed. Finally. Crew finished today. One guy has to come back tomorrow for warranty work. One of the fans had a bad motor. We checked the wiring by wiring in another fan and it worked.
With all fans running I should be moving around 230,000 cfm per barn. Birds shouldn’t know it ever gets hot outside.

Had 15 of 96 2x4’s left over. Maybe 20 screws out of 25 pounds. Glad I didn’t follow contractors estimates of 60 2x4’s and 15 pounds of screws.

Will have to change our tunnel curtains next layout. Then upgrades will be done.

Don is your place named Snake Heaven? You seem to have lots of legless creatures around.

Good morning. Very dull again this morning. It seems we are stuck in this weather system because the jet stream has split into two over the Atlantic, with the lower half swirling back to us over our east coast. As I woke up the radio was playing Annie Lennox - Here Comes The Rain Again ...

Ron our cedar work is holding up well.
Even with a rat snake. Do you see it.

This one was easy..
Not for me ! If it it wasn't for Newbury showing where that "little" snake was hiding (in full view :ashamed:), I could have spent the whole morning staring at the bridge - I got it in my head that it was in the cedar :confused2: You got me Don.

Good morning all, pretty morning if cool, 37 going to around 70 today, then 80s and windy for 3 days or so. That will be a nice break.

We have a lot of snakes on the Eastern Shore, but for some reason only one pit viper, the copperhead. No idea why we don’t have rattlers, but I’m not unhappy. I grew up in NE NC where we had rattlers, copperheads, cottonmouths, and coral snakes.
I still have a rattle from a velvet tail with 11 rattles and a button.

Currently 24 and going to a high of 36 F. Wind S 9 mph. Snow mixed with rain, dry so far.

The only snakes we see here are Copper Belly water snakes ( they are supposed to be a cousin of the garter snake). They are nasty little boogers. Strike first, ask questions later. How they get into my concrete lined dug well, I have no idea. It is a good thing we only use it for watering the garden, now.
The daughter in law says she saw a very large snake on the road the summer after she came over here. She said it was about 6' long and brownish in colour. There have been no rattler sightings around here in over 50 years, so I have no idea what she saw. (The only poisoness snake in Ontario, Canada is the Massasauga Rattler.) This is from 2013.

Have a good day all
