New battery technology?

Yet the batteries keep getting cheaper. Part of the price rise is supposed to be because of the Chinese control of many of the mines and production. Flip side is that companies are looking to open Lithium mines in other places, such as in the old mines in Cornwall England and Germany.

From Lithium Battery Pack Prices To Fall From $29 Per kWh Now To <$1 By 225 which posted in January of this year:

Everything I read from people installing LiFePo batteries on boats is that the prices are falling and are expected to continue to fall.

The equipment is cheaper because production was moved from west to China . Care to comment on Chinese wages , benefits , job site safety and pollution controls .

There is nothing to perfect in hydrogen fuel cells , they work very well . Btw tell us about the source of H2, H2 storage and transportation of the H2

In context your statement tends to contradict itself...
I only used the h2 fuel cell as an example source of portable energy...As for "source, storage and transportation"...they would all fall under the term "major advancements"...

Besides advancements to existing technology there is also the endeavors to find new (and unexplored) technologies using little known or currently available rare elements...like He3 !

Lets get back to the facts and topic instead of mankind making more inventions . btw all inventions have to obey the laws of physics . Tell us the source of hydrogen, hydrogen transportation and hydrogen storage .
What food is He3 if it is rare ? If it could be made to function here would be 20+tons required per year to power just the US electrical grid .

Maybe homeopathy is the answer, based on the minute quantities of the active element required I could run my car for the next 20 years with one teaspoon of petrol.

The entire point of my original comment was a "counter point" to the topic...
If you are unfamiliar with the source, transportation and storage of hydrogen...I suggest using a search engine...there is lots of information available...

My point was and still is...when it comes to "new technology"...the future is about new power sources...not power storage (batteries)...

Again...my examples are just that "examples"...NOT fixations...!

Hence fracking. Energy problems solved. Well for ten thousand years.

If I have to spell it out . Compressing H2 into high strength pressure vessels wastes a lot of energy . The pressure vessels are not cheap and require regular inspection/testing .
. H2 is a small molecule and creaps through any pressure vessel wall.
Hydride storage is heavy in weight and low in energy density .
H2 is expensive to split from water .
There are no other ways to store or manufacture H2.

When greens found out the best hydrogen fuel is diesel they ran away....

Sure. Chinese wages are rising and they do have benefits, including retirement. Job site safety and pollution controls is non existent from what I have seen personally. But that is a moot point and a red herring since many/most lead acid batteries are produced in China.

The Germans think they will be able to build Li batteries in Germany to be price competitive to China.
