LS xr4140
I'm at the 50 hour mark for an oil change on a LS XR4140h and the book and the sticker on the tractor say to only use API CL-4 oil. I plan on using 10W-30 conventional oil, but the only oil I can find has the newer API CK-4 classification. NAPA is the only store here. If I need to only use CL-4 oil what brands are owners using? Also what brands of Hydraulic oil for the hydrostat transmission. Thanks.

A lot of people on here use Rotella T6 in 5w-40. Why would you use 10w-30 out of curiosity? As far as hyd fluid, Tractor Supply branded oil will work fine. I would opt for the synthetic over the conventional, but that's just my opinion. For your 50-hour service, you don't need to change the hyd fluid, just the filters.

Pick the brand oil you want to use and give the company a call or email ....or check with your dealer , CK-4 is backwards compatible. The newer AF-4 is the exception to the rule.... but best to check with manufacturer or oil company or both to be sure

CK-4 is the current diesel oil classification and is backwards compatible.

Any major brand in the viscosity range specified in your owners manual for the ambient temperature range is fine. The big ones like Shell Rotella and Mobil Delo and others can be found at any big box store (Walmart, Menards etc) so it is pretty easy and usually cheaper purchasing in those stores.

I have a TYM with 3 cyl Mitshibishi diesel. The manual calls for using 10w-30. Why? I assume I can use Delo 15-40?

If your manual calls for 10W30 that's what I would use , a heavier weight oil may not be suited for clearancs of that engine ...most manuals will give weight of oil at a given ambient temperature...double check your manual....it's never a good idea especially with a New engine to use a heavier weight oil than manufacturer recommends
