Years ago, I was going to work and came across something similar. It was a Pontiac fiero with a jacked up Chevy half ton sport side parked on top of it Not really sure how the accident happened. But there didn't appear to be any marks on the front or back except where the mud tires were sitting on the hood and trunk area.

Poor cop was walking around the spectical scratching her head trying to figure out how to write that one up

It ‘‘tis the season for crazy haulers.

I passed 3 unsafe people on my way into work. Two were large bumper pull campers on 1/2 ton trucks with out WD hitches, all the weight was on the tongue and they were squatting. Neither had tow mirrors either, most they could see if the front of a camper.

3rd was a Chevy Colorado with a 6ft+ tall pallet of mulch in the bed, he at least had his flashers on, thought his hitch was gonna start dragging. All on busy interstates.

Passed a Mercedes yesterday, had several 2x4s in roof, couple sheets of 4x8 something on them, then some firring strips. Did have twine holding it side to side. Figured some 2x4s would slide out when stopping, but they didnt. Was on a 60mph freeway with stop lights.

Hate to say it... but what you describe is a common occurrence around here. On my way back now from a trip to Eastern WA and have seen many wrongly loaded tongues.
