Whew! you just saved me a ton of work. If the North pole is moving toward London does that correspond to my North being 1.78˚ off and pointing a tad East. In other words, will my Compass rose get more in line or out of line the next 50 years?

I'm no expert, and didn't even spend last night in a Holiday Inn Express, but I'd say if the pole moves east it would be moving in the direction that your compass rose is already pointing. Hate to be the bringer of bad news, but it isn't moving very fast, and you might not live long enough to see absolute accuracy return.

If you can't live with that, better get with Kyle and come up with a plan to mount your compass rose on some sort of turntable. I bet Eric could even put together a computerized gizmo that would constantly monitor the pole position and adjust the compass rose accordingly. Make it solar powered and it would always be accurate!:laughing:

But then waiting could be for naught if Global Warming adjusts water content in some other drastic way and the wobble goes in the other direction. Better plan on the turntable scheme to be sure.:laughing::laughing:

TX has expansive soil that will move a good bit.

Oldest got the back yard mowed, said youngest will do the front. I will just have along the road and along my creek, and around the field.

Good deal there BEF!
I can’t find anybody to mow mine, but I only mow 2 acres, plus Ellen’s little yard. She has 7 acres, but thankfully only about an acre is mowable.

I started off my day with a very depressing day at the arthritis doc, who I like and have gotten close to.
And for once and sadly way more depressing for the doctor, am guessing around 60.
He got a call a few months back saying his perfectly fit 6 foot plus 250 pound civil architect 32 year old son was DOA from a heart arrhythmia.
Worked out three to five times a week, took one of those power drinks. His Father said he kept warning his son to be careful with them.
So his son's body is full of caffeine, and this boost juice, not steroids, but something that clearly affected his son's heart. Dead on the living room couch with the glass of
work out juice next to him. The doctor was crushed, his closest of three sons, his best buddy...and now three month's later he was still a walking wreck, clearly suffering
from depression. Uh Doc, you should see a Doc...He said he let his son use his Amazon account to order the boost juice and it's clear he is continuing to punish himself.
I gave him a hug.

Most of those drinks are likely to be safe if you are in perfect health, but who knows if they are?

Drew- I am really sorry to read about your doctor-friend's son's death and his feeling responsible and grief. No parent should ever have to experience the loss of a child. It does not get much worse. Dad knew best........:(

My mental status has been questioned before.

I tried to highlight what I believe to be the skink, but I blurred out the area around it instead. I believe that one can see it's head (3 o'clock) and tail (7 o'clock) from underneath the lower leaf of the middle head:

60 degrees going for a high of 92 today; clear and sunny. My wife's portable oxygen system ain't workin' so the provider opens at 8:30 a.m. and I'm just going to take it to them instead of calling since it's only about 20 miles, and I can exchange some empty oxygen bottles for full ones. Then she has a 1:00 p.m. appointment with her oncologist for a checkup, chest x-ray, and Prolia injection. And since the oncologist has never been known to be less than 30 minutes late; usually more like an hour or two, it's gonna be a long day.

As expected, with a 1 p.m. appointment, she was called to the back at 2:40 p.m. and as of 3 p.m. had not seen the doctor. But we finally got out of there about 4 p.m. and the car's instrument panel said the temperature on the concrete roads was 97. But officially at the airport only 92.

I've gotten behind on my TBN reading, but I noticed the posts about water and whole house water filters. That reminded me of when we left the Dallas area right about Christmas, 1989, to go to Arizona where we spent most of January in an RV Park in Tucson. When we got to Tucson, I tasted the water and it was OK, so I just hooked up my hose from the water hydrant to the travel trailer and thought no more about it for a couple of weeks. But then one day I drew a glass of water and noticed the sand in the bottom of the glass. Good tasting, clean water AND plenty of clean sand.:pullinghair: That's when I started always using a big filter in my water line. And I eventually had to pull the water tank out of the travel trailer to get the sand cleaned out.

Jay, thanks, I see, or don't...
I'll give it a possible, but more likely a piece of wheat straw bent around.
Wheat straw I wish I'd never used because of wheat weeds now.

Just finished a yummy big salad with my own lettuce, some feta cheese and tomatoes on top, with a home made dressing including
Vidalia onions that have just come in. We'll have to have a taste comparison between the Vidalias and the home team, Texas Sweets

Back when I taught map reading, we also touched on declination, but back in those days (before global warming/climate change/ mankind responsible for all adverse change) it was just something to be aware and know how to relate to map.

More than you probably want to know

My son wasnt done when i wanted, but i called him in for supper and he kept mowing. After eating I went out and took over, he was almost done and wanted to finish, but i kicked him off.
I skipped mowing along the creek last time, and it looked like it had never been mowed. One deer across the creek, didnt mind me mowing, just kept eating.
Think I'm going to take down a fenced area behind my shed. Will make mowing easier. Few years back a tree fell across it, never did put that section back up.

else, pouring two inches of a fine anejo 100% agave tequila into his glass of undefined mixing swill and told him what an ***** he was. That comment wasn't well received, so I went on to explain that his employer and all those like myself who had donated the bottles, some of which were quite expensive, supported the event because it gave everyone a chance to taste a wide variety of tequilas and perhaps find one or two they liked.

If you like a good Tequila, I would definitely recommend CASA DRAGONES the Blanco is one of my favorites, smooth soft sipping Tequila.
I'm a Blanco drinker I don't care for most of the Anejos or Reposados .

Good evening all. 65F for the start, lifgt breeze and mostly sunny skies. Wind stayed down, Sky stayed mostly sunny, and high temp was 94F. Choir practice for start, then lawn mowing for two hours got the grass bagged before trash guy showed, bike ride after lunch. Wife and I thought we were going to a sales presentation on air ambulance, but just egg beater and sales brochure. Worked on routing the GPS for upcoming BAK in June.
