I would of at least asked why.
I explained to the parents that when I was in a leadership role, and even though I may of worn a uniform, scouting starts first and foremost at home and the boys parents should be their own "Scoutmaster". That also includes holding your leaders responsible for what the boys are doing.
ANYTIME a parent asked me something, it was their right for me to give them a straight answer as a leader. Packs or Troops should never be run like "clicks" at school, everything should be above board and everyone should know what the rules/procedures and policies are.
If parents don't get and stay involved, it's possible for the troop or pack to be run by a "dictator" IMO. I believe this can be true for ANY organization.
That said, out of how many e-mails I've send out to boys parents, I can probably count on one hand where I got a response. One of those guys who actually did respond is the new leader now LOL
