That was the exact diagram i saw that made me call them to ask about the plug. Turns out they used quite a few different valves over the years so i need to get the casting numbers to know for sure if this is the one that just needs a cc plug, or if it is going to require heading in a different direction.
When I ran a shaver on my 2240 I had to bungee cord the remote valve open on the tractor then use the valve on the post driver. I ran the return line back to the fill port on the tractor. Is this what you are doing? If it is then the post driver valve may be broken.Ok, i got everything hooked up on the post pounder! Just when i thought there was light at the end of the tunnel, i pull the lever and all that happens is fluid flows out through the discharge hose! The ram doesnt budge an inch! Uugh! Any suggestions?
Any idea what type of tractor it was used on? Those pounders can be set up multiple ways depending upon whether the tractor has open center or closed center hydraulics. Your john deere is a closed center system and the pounder valve may not have the closed center plug if it was used on an open center tractor.Yeah, i have mine set up the same way, although the hydraulic valve for the remote stays back on its own and i threaded the return line into a threaded port right next to the fill port.
What kind of valve would that be considered on the post pounder? Is it one i could find on northern tools website?
