Power Beyond Adapter For MF 1700 Series Sub Compact

Curious as if anyone can shed any light on this..

One of the MF brochures states a "Power Beyond Adapter" is available for 1705 through 1720... Imagine its for running things like log splitters and "other" hydraulic tools/implements..

But I queried corporate and they referred me to local dealer, and they were clueless....

Brochure states adapter is part number #71516030...

Anybody have any idea what this is...

Power Beyond in a hydraulic system is used to provide full pressure to a downstream spool. As an example with tractor with a FEL and a backhoe, FEL on many setups has a power beyond port that routes full pressure to the backhoe. If the FEL is not using the hydraulic pressure, the backhoe can then use it.

I think the LS MT125 is basically the same tractor amd on page 3-18 of the owners manual it shows the optional hydraulic valve.

Typically a "power beyond adapter" is nothing but a threaded plug that goes inside the valve through the PB port...all it usually takes is an allen wrench

I was sort of aware of it being a "port", was really wondering how to plumb from port to hydraulic device (maybe log splitter ram) and back to main FEL valve body for return... Guess I should have asked what is involved in plumbing a device if capabilities are there... Friend of mine has JD and it has two hydraulic quick connects on rear and a loop around hose so when the is no hydraulic device in connected on rear it still keep integrity of hydraulic system,... Was sort of looking or hoping for same type of setup...

IS the PB port on your FEL valve not plumbed into the 3PH?...this is typical on many compact tractors...??


The way it works is...if the PB port is not being used...there is a cap/plug in the outlet...to use it for power beyond to another valve...the adapter must be installed (inside the port)...this is another type of plug/sleeve...if the PB port is NOT being used the internal plug/sleeve (adapter) must be removed...

The internal "adapter" prevents the pressurized fluid from flowing back to the tank and moves it (pressurized fluid) to the PB port...which in most cases goes back to the 3PH...

Pull the hose out from your joystick valve to the three point and run down to your hydraulic jobber and ask for a double acting valve. You'll need to think about where to mount the valve body, but once your jobber knows what size thread are on the ends, you can take the valve body home and measure using a garden hose to measure with exactlyu how long your new hoses need be.

What happens is any new valves are placed between the power beyond port on your jostick valve and the three point.

Sorry for the confusion on my part...I realize now the "PB adapter" in question is likely a block or manifold ? and not the typical sleeve...

The problem with this type of (bootleg) plumbing is whatever device connected must have its own control valve...i.e., even if its just an angle cylinder on a rear blade etc....there must be a valve to control the cylinder etc...log splitters usually have their own control valve so that is one of few things that would make the above set up viable...many dedicated remote valves have hold detents for exactly that purpose...
