Best not to encourage jeffy.
Agree Yanmar is a nice tractor but still pricey. The RK a rebadged TYM cab tractor w/ many std features is $30k. Tractor and loader w/ HST, a very appealing price. Take a look at U Tube channel "Outdoors with the Morgans," lots of videos of working RK tractors, and 7 year warranty as I remember, Video #'s in mid 140's and up.
Cab + Loader + 40HP for 30K? Is that confirmed, major? I think personally that for reliability at the bottom end I'd want the tranny to be traditional geared type rather than a economy dollar HST.
But is the RK brand really in the running? The OP didn't post where he is from, and the The RK brand seems to be restricted to only a few (13) states in the Eastern US.
HST's have been around a VERY long time and are about as reliable as gear transmissions with a clutch. Clutch is a maintenance item that requires splitting the tractor and on an economy tractor that could happen around the 800-1000 hour mark.
Before I added extras like loaded rear tires, extra remotes, 3rd function, etc the price on my Mahindra 2655 HST Cab with the loader was about $35,800 delivered. 55hp tractor with a 7 year warranty and a much larger dealer network than the RK brand will probably ever have. The 2655 is also a TYM but with a Mahindra engine (no DPF).
To the OP...if you think you need a 40hp tractor you need to go up a couple sizes. You should always buy more tractor than you "think" you need. Also, are you looking for 40 engine HP or 40 PTO HP? Hydro or gear? Hydrostaics take away HP. My 55hp tractor because of the hydro has 44 PTO HP.
