Ordering a new lawn mower battery

The Everstart batteries at Wal Mart are made by Johnson Controls while many of the auto part store brands are imported and not very good.

It is true that the Walmart batteries are made by Johnson Controls.
What we do not know is if Walmart dictates the (price/cost) specs. for their brand of Johnson built batteries.
That said: I buy only Walmart batteries. They seem to be the most cost effective.
I have found the only difference being that other brands are very often more expensive, and never seem to last any longer!
I use battery maintainers on all of my batteries.

To be honest,I had a unhappy online shopping experience before.Waited for two weeks but receive nothing.I was a little hesitant this time.I live in ND and went to another one battery shop yesterday,the cheapest I found here is $55.Seems a little more expensive than WA.

Wow,that 's a great deal.And you buy another and get four years, and another and get four years totaling 12 years for $60.00.And the cheapest one I found in my city,Williston,NC,is about $55.And I am not sure how long it will last.

I don't know much about the influence of high CCA vs lower CCA before.
You made it clear to me.

From Kohler:

minimum current rating of 230 cold cranking amps hours should
be sufficient for cranking most electric start engine
models. Actual cold cranking requirement depends on
engine size, application, and starting temperatures.
Cranking requirements increase as temperatures
decrease and battery capacity shrinks. Refer to
equipment's operating instructions for specific battery
requirements

This is a minimum number. a higher number like 350 + will be more reliable for longer ntime.

Put a lower CCA battery in it thinking you save $ and you will waste time boosting it when hot.

If you want a low priced battery, make a frame for a standard car type battery on the front of your tractor.
A tired car battery will do a great job on a garden tractor.

A couple of things.

1. Batteries have increased drastically in price in the last year. A previous 25 dollar battery now is in the neighborhood of $50.00.

2. Measure the old battery that came in a John Deere. Also measure the battery compartment or location on the unit the battery sits. To find a replacement battery the same size as the original or will fit into the battery compartment area just about forces one to purchase the replacement battery from John Deere.

Really, batteries have doubled in price in the last year?! I haven't experienced that in my neck of the woods.

Just bought a new battery off ebay for my motorcycle. It had a Battery Source battery in it. They wanted $75 + core + tax + disposal for a replacement. Harley wants over $100 for one. The sealed AGM Pirate brand battery I bought was $42.75 to my door in 2 days. Read reviews on it on Amazon and it had 4 stars out of 99 reviews. Several one star reviews so I hope it pays off and works okay for me. Started the bike as soon as I installed and it started but it's been raining ever since so no riding yet.
