I use clinometer app. Yes 35 is steep. The tractor is doing 45 well enough....slow...but well enough. Any steeper I must make bench cuts into the side. Difficult with my setup.

If your tractor productively functions at 45 degree it's exceptional!!! None of mine will.

just wondering, why a traffic road to the knoll top? would a footpath have served the same purpose to gain a view (plus a good workout)? will you be developing the knoll top? ambitious project. with today's climate pattern, erosion & washout will be a big challenge. you posted it in the right place as many members are experienced at this..... all the best!

I don't know how productive I am at 45... 50 foot run going up took a long, long time. I'm currently traversing a gully, so the only work the loader or box blade is doing is cutting sections of dirt on each side....nothing in the middle....if that makes sense.

I’ve run into conversations where people conflate slope in degrees with slope in percent. My dump trailer maxes out at 45 degrees of dump. (=100% slope) It looks almost vertical from a tractor operators perspective.

I love to hike it! Gotta pack your lunch tho.. it gets insanely steep midway up. Summertime it gets so green and thick making it hard to navigate.

Many reasons... I'd get better use out of my mostly unused land...some family members can not physically get up it to see the view when visiting....tree house airbnbs....wedding venue on top... but mainly the 1st two reasons.

Ah...i may have it backwards.....my 45 slope degrees are based on angles if you had a protractor on flat ground.... which is 100% grade.

My impression is that the grades mentioned referred to the slope of the hillside, not the slope of the road.
