There's always the million post thread about Flail Mowers.

A flail mower that is set up right cuts as well as a finish mower. Where I live most folks have never seen one more less used one. There’s two camps you either love it or hate it.

I thought this forum was to share info and have always liked seeing different opinions I wasn’t aware that you had to be grammatically correct to share. If you don’t like how it’s written don’t read it IMHO.

I'm not sure why you would say love it or hate it to flail mowers. I have one and owned two. They fit a certain application. Hey, here is a novel idea. A guy could own a finishing mower AND a flail mower.

The first flail mower I saw was in the 60s, cutting my school playground. After that, I saw them mostly on US highways. I guess, both application chose a flail for safety considerations, not quality of cut.

I enjoy using my flail mower as I can pick up my clippings and then just shovel them into the dump trailer and then take them to the town compost dump.

If I had my pick(and the money for a brood herd of attachments) it would have to be the robomax and the roboflail for contract mowing in an easy chair or following behind it with a cabbed RTV 1100, road legal with turn signals and brake lights, high output alternator, light bars front, rear and on the sides and LED flashing beacons. By the time it was all over I would be looking at over $140,000.00 after adding more goodies like an air conditioner, front winch and a second winch for the rear 2 inch receiver.

Ah, to dream.

Guinness Beer is one of those things you love or hate.

There are those that if you told them their flail mower doesn't do a perfect job, their EGO just couldn't accept that. But I'm sure that holds true for anything they own.

I for one love Guinness (but only room temp in an Irish or Welsh pub) and I am seriously considering a flail (ditch) mower.

Just my 2 cents...

I bought a flail couple years ago. After using it a couple times I posted on the marathon thread that I "don't get all the hype". Man,,,, I got pounced on!!! You'd have thought a denounced God..... :)

Hello and good morning Navvet,

I have only had Guinness(insert the word blasphemy here) in the tall can with the chilling charge-unsure if they still do that though. I plan on trying the Guinness blond one of these days.

If you have any questions before you buy please ask us.

If the mule in the picture is the one you wish to use for both ditch mowing and brush mowing we need a bit more information to help you along with your decision simply because the mules true center line geometry and rear wheel spacing is going to control the decision you make if you intend on buying a boom mounted ditch mower with swing type side shifting that can also mow vertically.

I'm gonna start a thread. Forget your old flail mower. Get with the times. Let's talk Disk Mowers.

I don't think I ever heard tell of one on here. Many municipalities are using them instead of the flails.
