Comparison Mahindra vs Kioti

   / Mahindra vs Kioti #21
I have nothing againgst kioti or any color tractor ; B ut my Mahindra 2810 has over 1000 hard hrs on it with only a small hyd leak why so much hostility against Mahindra .I have a new 2538 that I love, olong with my cub 7260 and my old mf 255 they all are good at certain things

Had I not found a used tractor that met my criteria I likely would have purchased a 2638. I was impressed with it and the dealer has been around a long time.

I put 300 hours on my 2538 and traded for a 2655. I loved the 2538. I have had them side by side at shows. I bought the Mahindra both times

Nothing wrong with either tractor. Try them both on and see which one fits you best. Ergonomics and comfort. Then buy the one that you like the best. Then post pics of your new ride. Because it did not happen unless there is photographic evidence (LOL). B.

Interesting thread as I am undecided between the two. I visited our local Mahindra dealer 2 TIMES in the last 2 weeks and have yet had anyone offer to help me. First time wife and I walked in and told the guy at the parts counter we wanted to talk about buying a tractor.. He said he would get someone so we sat down and waited. 20 minutes later told him we were leaving and he said just a few more minutes. 5 minutes later we walked out.
This past Friday I walked in, grabbed some brochures and sat down. 15 minutes later decided I would walk through the gate and examine the tractors myself. Spent 15 minutes looking at a 2538 and not a soul asked me what I was doing or needed. Now found out the 2638 is replacing the 2538 so need to go back and see how the seat fits me. If the dealership (Crossville TN) is that busy they can't take the time to help sell a tractor makes me wonder how service will be after the sale.

Kioti dealer a few miles away......got out of the car and they asked what they could do for me and spent 20 minutes talking to the wife and myself.

Still undecided but at this point the Kioti dealer is "winning".

I have owned an Oliver Super 55, Case 580G (Gray market), BobCat 753, John Deere X495, and now a Mahindra 4025. Pound for pound and dollar for dollar my 4025 is the most powerful and versatile machine I have owned.

I wrote a couple mad posts on this attitude you get sometimes with old-school tractor dealers. Seems they only want to deal with "real" farmers.

What I've discovered since moving to the *real* country--I mean like you're in a time-capsule, the boondocks--is that everything is based on relationships. To wit, the local Southern States (doesn't get more "farmer" than that) at first our reception was a bit chilly. But once they got to know us, now they greet us like family, and have done us lots of favors. We can call and tell them what we need and they will put it out on the dock for us (we run a business and can't get there during business hours many times) and we pay next time we come in. But it took a little time. Same with the tractor dealer. At first we were "nobody" but now that they know us, they've been great. IOW, based on my first interactions with both of these places, I would have expected lousy service in the future, but the opposite happened. YMMV

No debate with anything you posted as we live in the south and are pretty rural as well. But a customer can not walk into a dealership and beg to be taken care of. The responsibility to sell the tractor is on the dealer. I plan on going back to the Mahindra one more time to look and sit on the 2638. If they blow it for the third time they can forget about my money.

Agree 100%! I doubt these folks were ever trained in customer service.

Also helps to visit on off days/hours, esp if you'll be needing a lot of help.

Will be curious to see what happens on your next visit. They could just be jerks! :)

Those new 2600's are sweeet. Got the new comfy seat w/ armrests, and for me, the perfect pedal layout. Drove one and really liked it. Just too darn big for my uses.....

If you DO end up getting a salesperson to talk to you I'd make sure they know it's your 3rd time in and you couldn't get anyone to talk to you the previous two times. Maybe you can make them feel bad and you'll get better service from them...or even call first and ask to speak to a sales manager, ask them if there's going to be someone there that can help you if you make yet ANOTHER trip to buy a tractor. Worth a shot anyway.
