I did fly them to FL a couple of years ago. It was an interesting experience. You were not supposed to eat your own snacks or drink your own water - you were supposed to BUY it all from them. I price them from time to time and by the time I pay to check a bag or be allowed to stow my carryon in a bin, pay for a reserved seat, etc., it's not much more to fly a more established airline. The main thing that they have going for them is that they're non-stop to vacation destinations. We don't have many direct flight options out of our local airport - other than to ATL, Chicago, DFW, CLT, etc.

We used them for our family vacation to Florida last week.

Saved us $800 for the four of us for a 90 minute flight.

My wife is the one who did the legwork, she used them for work a while ago and no complaints.

It's a "little different", but for a $800 price difference, I can live with it.

While I don't necessarily take what I see on TV as Gospel, one of the news magazine shows (20/20, 60 Minutes, Dateline, etc. - I can't remember which) did a piece on Alligient and recent "incidents" that they've had that were related to maintenance. They might have improved, but I don't think they're there yet.

60 minutes did a story about 2015 and earlier problems.
Basic flight saves money. If you add all the extras they are similar price

Might have been mentioned, I didn't read the entire thread.

But..

Years ago I read "on the internet" a humorous script entitled something on the order of "If they sold paint the way they sell airline tickets".

Quite the rip! Imagine the paint store salesman responding to your inquiry of "how much a gallon", with Well, when will you be doing the painting? And then "How many people will actually be painting with you." "Will you paint all in one day, or over a week end?"

You get the drift I'm sure.

Willing buyer, willing seller, That sets the value of anything!
